High school football in Arkansas is not the same as college football or the NFL. There have been lots of things that have worked in high school that didn't translate to the higher levels of football.

High school football in Arkansas is not the same as college football or the NFL. There have been lots of things that have worked in high school that didn't translate to the higher levels of football.

This isn't really one of those cases. The data and scientific research shows that even in the NFL level, you should rarely kick the ball away. Even for field goals. The lower the level of play, the even less a team should kick the ball. But even at the NFL level, teams should rarely kick the ball.

The only part of where it's different is he always onside kicks. That may be difficult to pull off if a team is expecting it. He onside kicks differently than what most teams do for onside kicks as he drives the ball past closer to the 50-yard line. Still, if he gets only 1 onside kick, his team no has a substantial advantage in the game.

And that's even without coaches calling plays to more efficiently use all four downs. A coaching staff that is unafraid to use all 4 downs and play call towards that now has a large advantage over a 3 down team.
