Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne is battling a hamstring injury that forced him out of action against the New York Jets in Week 15. It is unclear when he will be able to return to the field.

Continue for updates.

Claiborne Out vs. Bills

Saturday, Dec. 26

Claiborne, 25, did not make the trip with the team on Saturday and will not play against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, according to the Star-Telegram's Drew Davison.

Claiborne Can't Shake Injury Bug

This is the second-straight game Claiborne is missing due to the injury and the fourth game he'll be sitting out this season.

Selected sixth overall in 2012, Claiborne's NFL career has been a disappointment. He's yet to play 16 games in a season, has struggled mightily in coverage at times and has never had a multi-interception campaign.

He ranks third among Cowboys cornerbacks with 37 total tackles to go with five pass deflections. But the Cowboys' depth issues make it too hard to bench him as they've been without Orlando Scandrick all season due to a knee injury.

Claiborne had run into issues with the hamstring before in Week 10 that sidelined him for two games, forcing Dallas to dig deep into its recesses.

As it stands, it's hard to do much worse than Claiborne has in 2015. Then again, given the coaching staff's insistence in keeping him in the lineup, it's probably not much of an endorsement for his backups.

Byron Jones will probably be called back into Claiborne's spot as he replaced him during Week 15 against the New York Jets.
