The Dallas Cowboys suffered a swath of injuries on Sunday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints, but none surpassed the importance of the loss of Sean Lee.
Lee left the contest in the second quarter with his team up three points after a hamstring injury and was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game per ESPN:
UPDATE: Huge loss for the Cowboys as LB Sean Lee is done for the day with a hamstring injury.

Joe Trahan of WFAA-TV in Dallas provided an update before halftime:
Press Box announcer says Sean Lee (hamstring) is doubtful to return. I doubt that’s right. #wfaacowboys #looksdone

The Penn State product was in the midst of a quiet statistical game with three total tackles, but Lee's importance to the defense cannot be overstated.
Entering the game, Lee had recorded 90 total tackles and four interceptions as the heart and soul of the Dallas defense in the middle.
Far from Lee's first encounter with injury, the star linebacker has failed to participate in a full 16-game season and missed 10 games last season. Lee is an outstanding all-around player with 11 interceptions in his 44 career games in four years.
Dallas has no way of replacing Lee's production or leadership, so his loss is a major hit if he misses significant time once again.
