Seven weeks into the NFL season, critics of Tony Romo have been silenced. On the field, the often-chastised quarterback has the Dallas Cowboys at 6-1 and tied at the top of the NFC.

Romo has also been a revelation in fantasy, carrying teams over the last five weeks with his play. With 1,789 yards this season and 14 touchdowns, Romo is a top-10 fantasy quarterback this year.

In fact, he's been one of the most consistent signal-callers in terms of touchdowns over the last several seasons, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com:

That statistic was moved to 35 against the New York Giants, but Romo has thrown more than one touchdown in every game since Week 2. During that span, Romo has 12 touchdowns and just three interceptions after a rough start.

His production has also put him in the conversation for one of the best signal-callers in fantasy. Here's a look at the numbers for the top six quarterbacks over that length—granted, Peyton Manning had a Week 4 bye.

Romo's second-best outing came against the Giants as he threw for three touchdowns the second time this season. After torching New York, his next matchup is against the porous Washington Commanders' pass defense.

A huge part of Romo's success this season has once again been the connection with Dez Bryant. Last Sunday, Romo was most efficient when passing to his No. 1 receiver, as ESPN Stats & Info notes:

Along with Bryant, the plethora of targets at Romo's disposal has made him special. Equipped with both Terrance Williams and Jason Witten, Romo has also spread the ball around to Gavin Escobar and Cole Beasley this year.

Though the receiving cast has played an important role, it's been DeMarco Murray that has relieved the pressure on Romo. His 913 yards this season have helped carry the offense, even though fantasy owners would prefer Romo pass the ball on every occasion.

Albert Breer of NFL.com pointed out just how important Murray and the running game have been:

Moving forward, Romo should continue to thrive in the Cowboys offense against an easy schedule. Dallas plays the likes of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and every awful defense in the division—including the Philadelphia Eagles twice.

Suffice it to say, he will still put fantasy teams on his back all the way through the playoffs.

As for the trade value, owners should get an excellent return for Romo. In the case of already owning a quarterback such as Philip Rivers or Russell Wilson who can be trusted, moving Romo now could mean bolstering the starting lineup.

Getting back a solid RB2 such as Lamar Miller or a WR2 such as T.Y. Hilton or Kelvin Benjamin provides owners with a more complete roster. With no need for two talented quarterbacks late in the season, trading to a team in need seems like an obvious choice.

For those without a wealth of quarterbacks, continue leaning on Romo as the season progresses. Taking on several porous defenses moving forward, Romo will lead teams to glory and potentially a fantasy Super Bowl.
