For a while I was hearing how the "3 year rule" applied to James and how turned into a real good player... THEN... he had a bad stretch ALONG with the REST OF THE DEFENSE and now he is outcast... people want him to walk the plank... he cant do his job... he cant help us...

A comment by a Detroit player? Harrington? after we lost to Detroit set this thing in motion if I remember correctly... yeah he looked confused out there... but he wasnt the only one right?

my question is: Is he really a problem for us? or not?

It was Kinta (sp) who made the comment. I feel he was being used wrong. B. James is a 1st and 2nd down LB his job is to plug the run similar to how the iggles use trotter. on passing downs then K. Burnett and Carp need to be on the field. I really think that Parcells and Zimmer were using alot of talent on the Defense wrong. But James and Roy. W can work on the coverage skills this year.

If a James is that bad in pass defense, every down should be a passing down. An opponent should pass till we adjust, then analyse our change to see if a new opportunity has opened. I assume the New Orleans game would be instructive but painful.

Obviously, Bill Parcells had a fondness for Bradie James. Now Bradie is playing for a HC who doesn't have any bias for or against him. If Wade Phillips doesn't do anything to provide any pressure or competition for his starting job, obviously he doesn't think he was that bad. If Bradie really was that bad in pass protection, it's kind of sad that Bobby Carpenter couldn't even progress far enough to replace him in the nickel.

he is a liability in pass coverage as is Williams, Watkins, and sometimes Henry. Of course a better pass rush will cure some of that.

He's the best run stopper we have as a linebacker. He shouldn't be in on passing situations. Normally its him and Burnett that are in nickel situations. I hope this changes..

He was slightly overrated in 2005, was a poor player his first two years and last year. Yes - he is a liability.

I remember BP saying James has problems in coverage 3 years ago.

Remember the camp he was #1 on the depth charts ahead of Coakley, but could not hold it?

Well BP stated he could get to the corners good enough in the 4-3 scheme and cover RB's.

He has displayed the lack of coverage ability before the final month of last season.

The Giants abused him on screens in week 6 and I believe Payton saw that on tape.
