it was VERY nice to see him step up his game and leadership when the "captain" went down. sometimes guys thrive under those conditions but many, many just wilt.

James played well against the Eagles and made several nice tackles including a couple in the open field. However, the Eagles aren't much of a running team and he will be tested this week against Tiki Barber. I believe James' season began to unravel in the Giants game last year where he took a poor angle on Barber and allowed a big run. Mistakes that were repeated again and again until Dat was basically back as the full-time starter.

Well he now has the responsbility and all eyes will be on him. He has to demonstrate the ability to make the proper reads in the running game, fill the hole, take on blockers and make the tackle.

Just like at LSU baby!, Just like at LSU. The James Gang back in full effect!

Oh, he used to call plays at MLB in college, so maybe he feels right at home doing so. I think it is also a confidence builder when you get to be the "leader" of the defense.

Yep, and for Nick Saban's complicated defensive scheme too. Brad Shamm did a special for their radio "Cowboy's Report" on Bradie James and he said the veterans are all raving about how the light has come on for him.

Really, I never understood all the grief he took as some sort of underachiever. Contributes to the team as a rookie on special teams and defense. Becomes a part time starter on defense and the special teams ace by his 2nd year. Full time starter by his 3rd year. His career has had a very natural and continuous arc of progress for a 4th round draft pick.

ya i agree, but he made some mistakes that lead to bigplays, so understandably a lot of people were worried. he had his chance to be a bigshot, and took full opportunity, i think as you said hes finally seeing hte light his 3rd year, and I think a lot of people were saying this is the year he has to get it or he might not be here in the future. he definitely gave us the answer.
