Bradie James replacement at middle linebacker

I go to ASU so I'm a homer but this is the truth.

I've gone to every ASU game the last 2 years and both this year so far. The guy is unreal.

He was probably the most undisciplined LBer in the country his Freshman year getting a unsportsmanlike and unnecessary roughness penalties like no other. He has matured big time this year and is now the best ILB in the country. Better than that guy from Notre Dame.

4.4 forty yard dash.

4 sacks in 2 games so far this year.

Burfict is an absolute monster. He's a younger, bigger Ray Lewis.

You have to think that they wil come at him hard at the Combine. He'll get the same kind of crazy questions Dez Bryant did.

Burfict is awesome. He could accidentally brush past someone and they'd end up on IR. With his ability to play inside and outside, he'd be perfect for Rob's defense.

Unfortunately, since 1975, the number of times Dallas has drafted this kind of nasty, alpha dog player can be counted on one hand.

  • Randy White
  • Michael Irvin
  • Erik Williams
  • Dez Bryant

Maybe you could argue Larry Allen, Marion Barber, and Antonio Bryant. Ratliff possibly, but in the 7th round you're taking what you can get.

And never mind how many of the above guys are among the best to ever wear the star. Nope. We take safe, smart, mature guys who are great athletes. Maybe that will change with more influence from Garrett, and Ryan, and Stephen Jones, but I doubt it.

I kind of like this guy

Tank Carder, ILB, TCU
Height: 6-2. Weight: 237.
Projected 40 Time: 4.65.
Projected Round (2012): 2-3.
8/25/11: Tank Carder has a lot of buzz about him heading into his senior year. Carder had 60 tackles last season with 9.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. The leader of TCU's defense, Carder was a second team AP All-American last season. In 2009, Carder broke into the starting lineup and registered 89 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss. Carder looks like a middle linebacker for multiple defenses although he can play outside linebacker as well. Carder is a hard-nosed football player.

I will be there. Excited to go to my first ASU game and excited to see the Trojans in person for the first time since 2009 season.

I'll root for ASU every game this year except this one.

I doubt we draft this kid or anyone else at ILB. Going foward, Sean Lee will play one spot and Bruce Carter will play the other. We didn't spend a second round pick on an ILB coming off ACL surgery, just for him to be a back-up. Just like if we had a shot at Justin Blackmon, we aren't gonna take him.

Vontaze Burfict is a beast no doubt but don't think Dallas has a shot at him. He will go top 10 east if not top 5, hopefully no way Dallas is picking top 10 again.

Carter mught be the replacment lets wait to see how he turns out first.

Also you should watch a Boston College game every once in a while.
Luke Kuechly is all over the field all day long.

If you have a shot at Juston Blackmon then you take him. You can't have enough big time play makers. I don't think Dallas will but come on man. You go three wide with Miles, Dex, and Blackmon the defense will spread it out wide. Romo can just throw it up to any of them.

I'm not for spending a draft pick on a position that your full at, but when you can get a once in a few years specail talent like Blackmon, you do it. Same with Vontaze Burfict.

You might say we spent a 2nd round pick on a player so why woudl they do it again the next year for the same posotion. Carter might not cut it this year, you don't know. Teams do it every year. Dallas drafted Faseano and then Bennet bith 2nd round picks.

If a special talent player is there then you do it.

Fasano and Bennett weren't back to back years (06' & 08') like many are suggesting we do with Burfict and Carter. Also if we're if we're in the top 15, it likely means that something went horribly wrong at either QB, O-Line, OLB (specifically Spencer, but I think he'll have a very good year) or DB (pick a spot any spot) and Burfict may not even be the best player if we pick earily.

And JMO, but the term once in a life time talent, are used too often (I know u said once in a few years). Is he that much beter of a prospect than Te'o? Probably not. Is he a better prospect than Rolondo McClain? Doubtfull. What about Keith Rivers and Jerrod Mayo?

He is better than all those guys listed. Te'O can come out this year and if he does no way he is drafted before Burfict. Mayo was a once ina few years player same as P Willis. Burfict is on that level right now. IF you can get a P Willis or Mayo then you do it no matter what. Burfict is a better player than Rivers and McClain.

The Cowboys have a middle linebacker position?

McClain was a much better prospect than Mayo. Mayo came out of no where, McClain had been a consistent prospect all 3 years at Alabama.

And once we see Burfict's compete body of work, we can then accurately say wheather he is a better prospect than McClain, but I doubt it. Just comparing there their freshaman years, McClain was much better. Again compare their Sophomore years and McClain was much better.

maybe to you Mayo came out of no where, but I live in TN and a big Vol fan, I knew about Mayo. I said it when McClain was drafted that he was a product of that great defense in Alabama. Players from Alabama seem to never be great in the pros. Good yes but not great like they were in college.

Your comparing two players thats on two different teams playing against totaly seperate teams. MCClain had a much better team that ASU has.

No kidding. Mayo was my pet cat. I wanted him more then any other player 2008.
