Bradlee Anae should get more playing time

maybe a switch to OL gets him lay time? lose weight maybe a LB? hes not playing for obvious reasons we have depth and rotation in the Dl that pretty good right now.. rooks take back seats..

This seems like a situation where fans overvalue a rookie based on some practice clips/reports. The same thing kind of happened with Armstrong. Post draft some claimed he was a real steal. He also had a pretty effective camp as a rookie, if I recall. But in reality, all he ended up being was a serviceable 5th or 6th DE for a team. That's probably Anae but that's OK. You need to find good, cheap depth in the later rounds in the draft.

He got a few snaps against Seattle. I watched him for on one play and he rushed then turned around and was literally with his back up against the OT's chest as he rushed. Needless to say this was an ineffective move. It was only one play be he looked very raw to me. Alton Robinson looked a lot better.

As a comparison of rookies, I thought Trysten Hill looked better at DT last year than Anae looks at DE this year. Of course HIll is a 2nd round pick. Anae may need another year of training camp.

He is not physically strong enough (yet) to play DLaw's spot.
He is a stand up/wide RDE
In case it escaped you, that spot is manned by Aldon Smith who is playing "pretty well".

Some ole school dinosaur coaches are old fashioned and conservative and don't like to chancing young inexperienced rookies or 2nd year players
,,.unless they are forced per injury or poor performance to add/make changes ,..

- Rod Marinelli may have been like that .... and i'm watching to see if maybe DL coach Jim Tomsula might be in the same but already seeing him placing his trust
and support in young 2nd year Hill seems very encouraging from the bat, so i'm crossing my fingers with the two rookie DL guys.

- I'm hoping Tomsula isn't the type to " red-shirt" his rookies, simply because they are rookies. I'd like to see Bradley Anae get playing time over
JAG Dorace Armstrong .. which i'm sure Gregory's eventual return ends Armstrong's tenure here.

- also another rookie i want to see in some kinda rotation contribution is DT Neville Gallimore who was made inactive vs Seattle.

- Anae's reps seems to be coming off special teams only. So very early on, i'm concerned and deflated that those two may not be factor very
much at all this year -per coaches decision.

He may get less when Gregory returns.

i'm assuming we'll see the end of Dorace Armstrong when Gregory returns, i can't see us needing to carry so many DEs - and especially
one that's been JAG since the Cowboys drafted him.

DE
1 - DLaw
2- Aldon
3 - Griffin
4- Anae
5- gregory
6- armstrong ?

DT:
Hill
poe
crawford
gallimore
woods
