It was a bizarre story that disappeared almost as quickly as it unexpectedly arrived on the scene.

In early April, photographers looking to capture images of the Costa Rican nuptial celebration of Pats quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel (without super powers) wife, Gisele Bundchen, allegedly found themselves having to move faster than a speeding bullet.

Now, the men who claim that the Brady and Bundchen goon squad shot at them have sued the happy couple in federal court in New York.

Among other things, the lawsuit (per Joe Buck's favorite web site) claims that Brady and Bundchen negligently hired and trained the security team, and that they permitted the hired muscle to "discharge firearms with intent to kill or wound."

So the short list of NFL franchise quarterbacks now includes two of them who are defending themselves against civil lawsuits containing serious allegations.

Let's see if ESPN will cover this one.

Ding, ding, ding.

Of course, if people weren't out there gobbling down issues of the Enquired, Star, etc and logging into the TMC-type websites, these losers wouldn't exist.

This might be a ridiculously stupid question, but if someone in Costa Rica sues you, and you live in the USA, why should you give a crap?

The suit was filed in New York, so they are trying to get it into the U.S. courts. Seems flimsy to me.

So where is Goddell in this? Shouldn't Brady be suspended for ordering his security to discharge a fire arm at a person who was not a phsyical threat to Brady?

What about Big ben and his sexual assult? Shouldn't they be suspended?

Alleged gunfire at Brady nuptials won't draw discipline

Posted by Tom Curran on September 24, 2009 1:15 PM ET

We told you about a civil suit filed this week alleging that the security team at the Tom Brady-Giselle Bundchen nuptials went a little Barney Fife in trying to get a pair of photographers away from the scene down in Costa Rica.

Regardless of whether the security at the wedding did fire weapons -- and Costa Rican police investigated the claim but did not press charges -- NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez that Brady won't face any disciplinary action from the league.

"The personal conduct policy is aimed at the personal criminal conduct of NFL personnel, not civil matters involving the conduct of someone's security people," Aiello told Marvez in an email.

Brady's only public comment on the incident came in the May issue of Sports Illustrated when he described the allegations as "absolute total b.s." He added that "We found two guys on our property and told them to get out. Our security guys didn't even have guns. There were no shots fired."

So there you go. Going forward, it seems a valuable lesson learned about the dangers of dealing with paparazzi when getting married at a remote Costa Rican location.
