If not for the chokes in Green Bay and Jax, Dallas would be resting guys the next two weeks.

True, but a lot of rest has never done the Cowboys good heading into the playoffs at least during the past two decades. We’ve had two number one seeded teams look pretty lethargic in the first round of the playoffs after a long rest.

I think that's indicative of a flawed team, not the rest itself. Truly good teams benefit from rest.

I think some teams benefit more by continuing to play. The Giants won the Super Bowl in 07 and 2011 with no bye week. The three playoff games the Cowboys have won since 09 came with no bye week.

If the eagles win, it looks like a first round matchup of niners Packers, assuming the Packers make the playoffs. If the Packers win that, then we would play the winner of Vikings giants if we get past Tampa.

That seems like a better scenario than if we end up facing the Packers first round.

Didn't hurt us in the 90s. We had years when there were two meaningless games at the end, and Jimmy sat players.

We had great teams in the 90s and Jimmy knew how to prepare his teams for the playoffs. He wasn’t giving his blessings to trips to Cabo. Lol

IMO Dak doesn't play well on rest. He didn't play in the preseason and threw horribly against TB. He looked bad after the bye week too. I'm glad we have a shot for the #1 seed so Dak will get work.

If you could choose any team to play in the playoffs, Tampa and Green Bay would be low on the list. I would take my chances at home.

I beg to differ. Those teams were wild as you can imagine off the field. I saw it first hand.

The Cowboys became more of a loose ship after Jimmy left. You don’t win three championships in four years with a wild group of players off the field. Jimmy didn’t tolerate a lot of crap. It started getting crazy when Barry Switzer got there, even Troy Aikman commented about it. That’s when Michael Irvin ran into his problems. No issues with him when Jimmy was there.

I am hoping for 1 seed or 5 seed. 2 seed matchup vs a red hot Green Bay is a recipe for more playoff heart break. Somehow some way the Boys always lose to Rodgers. A bye gives them a chance to get fully healthy. The Bucs and Brady are scraping for everything. I think they are there for the taking. Brady isn't the same player the Boys faced in week 1. He is showing decline in his game

Brady is gradually declining; no one beats Father Time. So from that point of view I would rather face Brady. Bluntly speaking neither of those teams are all that good and we SHOULD beat either one.
