Brady Tinker was on dfw sports beat and told it like it is with Roy Williams on the show tonight.

Basically, Brady said the Cowboys have cut back and are letting Roy W runs the routes that he is good at, but like on the slant route, Roy tried to catch the ball with his supposedly big magical hands. Brady said that Michael Irvin talked to him and said on those slant routes catch the ball against your body because your going to get hit or the defender is going to try to knock the ball out of your hands, which is what happened.

Its time to have Roy Williams stop giving excuses and start making those big catches he does in practice like Wade said he does. One thing I think wade is overlooking on roy in practice, most likely roy isnt getting hit in practice like in live game situations.

So, to me, its time Roy W is held accountable. (Because we need Roy to step up and take our offense to another level)

Miles Austin and Marcus Spears were on the show talking about the saints game and the upcoming Cowboys Skins game.

Thought some of you might want to know what was said on the DFW sports beat show.

OK I'm confused. Because it looked to me like the ball hit Roy's hands cleanly and he flat out dropped it without getting hit in any way. Am I wrong?

No. And if he would have had it knocked out of his hand, you don't think he would have said something at some point during this week?

The ball was actually in his hands for a nanosecond. He just dropped it. The defender had nothing to do with it.

The ball was at his face so he couldn't catch it in his body.

It sucks he dropped it but he is still a good player for us. He just isn't what we hoped he would be.

Miles Austin though is just on the next level so thank goodness for him.

So if I were them I would just accept Roy for what he is and maybe try again next year and use him as a rotational guy this year.

Ogletree and Hurd deserve PT and I have confidence both guys can make a play.

I saw the show.Tinker is bringing up a discussion that took place between Irvin and Roy earlier in the year.Irvin I believe told Roy that he needed to start using his body to catch the ball when in traffic instead of his hands.Roy kinda blew off Irvins' suggestions and Tinker brings it up after every Roy drop it seems.

I use to think Tinker was somewhat objective in his coverage of Cowboys' football,I don't have those same thoughts today.I know everybody has their own opinions but he has a tendancy to beat a dead horse a little to often.

During the New Orleans game, Miles Austin also dropped a third down catchable ball where he came back for the ball. Where Austin got quite a few more balls thrown to him...and the pass wasn't in a prominent time in that game. The media has been riding the Cowboys for any perceived short comings from last season...and haven't dismissed the provacative insight associated back with anything that can relate back to TO, conflict, and the Cowboys. Terry Glenn blew an endzone situation, and Patrick Crayton missed a game turning pass in the playoffs....and both lived past those incidents. I think that a body of work is slowly developing for Roy Williams. With the diversity of this receiving group, passes that compliment Roy are available. He has had a little of a transitional carryover this season as well, as his broken ribs did affect habits and tendencies in receiving the ball.

Last season, despite receiving all the discredit, Tony Romo had a broken throwing hand finger and went through transitions with that as well. Those do influence finess matters.

I still think that Roy Williams has an upcoming 1000 yard receiving season on the horizon with Dallas. If not next season...

I did see roy drop the ball and i agree with that, brady said that too, but brady said also just like michael irvin told roy, catch the ball into your chest, because defenders hands are going to be there trying to knock the ball away etc.

I couldnt tell exactly if the defender hit roy hands after he tried to catch the ball in his hands; main thing again, he was told to catch the ball into his chest and he did not do that

i couldnt really tell, just saying what brady said and seeing what you all thought

i do know most of the time roy tries to catch the ball in his hands instead of into his body when a defender is dead on top of him

We all need to accept the fact that Roy is just not that good. He is never going to be the receiver we thought we were getting in the trade. I know it sucks, but we just have to realize that Roy is just not Playmaker 2.0

I fast forwarded through Brady Tinker's predictable trashing of Roy Williams' dropped pass. We have two games left and the Cowboys nation needs to get behind Roy because he is going to be out there, and we need him to help us get where we need to be, which is going to probably take 6 straight wins. I just don't see us doing that without some big plays by Roy. Constantly bad mouthing him and booing him is unlikely to put him in the best frame of mind to play well and help us win.

Constantly failing and making excuses isn't going to change the perception that people have of him.

Its up to him. It always has been. Unfortunately, he thinks his flapping gums can do the job no matter how he plays.

Exactly!!!

If Roy doesnt want people to think he is a bust, then he needs to catch the dam ball when it hits him in the hands.

Roy is just an easy target for the media these days. The ball was too high to catch with his body if I remember correctly so I guess it was a bad pass by Romo. Roy should still should have caught the ball for sure.

Like others mention, other WR's drop balls but aren't beaten up for it like Roy. Not to mention him and Romo have been off with the passes. His balls are usually high or behind him for some reason.

You stop using common sense right this instant.

Stepping back and using rationality has no place here.
