I would be shocked if they did that. I have to believe that they are saying this to try and entice a 2nd round offer for him. I mean, they have Fisher who will make in the area of 1.5 with a signing bonus so you figure that's going to be in the area of 14 million spread out over 5 years, say 4 million against the cap in 2013. Schwartz is another 630K, Rodney Hudson has a 643K Base with 250K signing Bonus tag this year so you figure 890K or so. Jon Asamoah counts a little over 1.5 Million for this year and you got the franchise for 9.82 Million this year for Albert. That's roughly 16,840,000.00 against the cap for just the starters. You figure that if they allow Albert to play it out, next year, they will be on the hook for over 10 Million and they will not be able to Franchise him past that year so he will, in effect, be an FA. You also have to figure that Schwartz and Asamoah are both in the last years of their contracts and that Hudson has one more year after this one so he is also due for an extension. I just don't see any way that they can seriously keep Albert and let him play it out. Chiefs have a lot of good young players that they are going to need to start resigning soon and you also figure that they are going to bring in another QB. There is no way I can see them being able to afford this and also, I don't see them just letting Albert Walk with no compensation, which is what they will be doing if they don't trade him.
