I posted this in another thread but felt it would be good to post as a standalone thread.

This one point is not why the Cowboys lost of course, but for some reason people seemed focused on it so ...

On the extra point attempt, the hold was not good ..

See the ball angle? That pushes the ball to the right.

Compare it to similar kicks of the same distance from other games by Aubrey ..

Yep but I'm still upset we were kicking a XP from there!!
Discipline!!!
On the lighter side, you know kickers, either they bounce back, or it's curtains. Waiting for robo-kickers then I'll be over :flagwave:

That was a long extra point thanx to one of the dumbest unsportsmanlike penalties I've ever seen. We are getting our butts beat and Jovante' has to act like that on a nice play? It's not like he's scoring a TD to seal a win. Reminds me of the old Jimmy Johnson line about dumb football players.

When good kickers miss there is a reason. Finding that reason and blaming it is the right response. The posts I've seen questioning Aubrey this morning are off base.

Aubrey is off to a rocky start. Dak was a deer in headlights at times. He looked stunned. Why did many of us know the buzzsaw they would face but Dak seemingly didn't? Is their a disconnect with the coaches too? Did Shotty underestimate the Giants and overvalue our guys? The better team last night across the board in all phases was the Giants, hands down. It looked like the Varsity playing the JV.

That first extra point was a weird knuckleball. Every facet of that team was unprepared.
I agree and I think the coaching staff fell into the same trap as the team in their prep. I think the team thought they would be business as usual. Soon as we got smacked in the chops a couple times the tone was set. Historically, over the last 31 years, when we get muscled like that early, we don't respond. Giants knew this, so did Harbaugh from his Ravens days. Its an open secret in the league that once Dallas gets hit in the chops, they are beat. Until we prove otherwise, this will be a pattern. Shotty and Parker, I'm talkin to you both.

This. This is what I was saying during the game. Hell, I was saying it about the Longhorns in the Texas / Ohio State game. Texas wasn't anywhere near prepared for that game. They were Keystone Kops. I'm not sure what is more embarrassing. Texas playing like Keystone Kops, or the #1 ranked Ohio State team that lost to the Keystone Kops!
