Yup, growing up in the north Dallas area in the late 80’s and early 90’s when the DFW area was much smaller, I went to school with quite a few Cowboys players kids and would go their houses for birthday parties or whatever. Quite a few, both retired and active. who didn’t have kids lived within a few miles of me as well.
I know people think it’s impossible or you’re lying to them or something. I train with the two times Super Bowl running back from the Los Angeles Raiders . The guy 65 years old now. Their people.
In fact I was at Whole Foods last week. I told this guy I said you could be a tight end. LOL turned out he was from New Orleans practice squad. I don’t remember his name but to funny

You know to be totally honest. I was in kind of like oh my god this guy wants to work out with me. I’ve been training for over 45 years. It just made me feel good. So brag about it yeah. But not because I know a football player. But because I just feel good about myself and that’s what this world needs. More good vibrations
Are used to post on the old Cowboys fan forum. One of the guys lived on the same street as Jerry Jones. Nobody believe him . But after while the stories were just too consistent. He end up owning cern industries. He actually post here hope he doesn’t mind seeing this
Lol, so I bought tickets to a game on Craigslist shortly after the new stadium opened. Long story short, I was at work and couldn’t meet the guy but we were texting the details back and forth. He seemed pretty shady, like trying to raise the asking price, claiming other people wanted them and were willing to pay more, etc. I finally just told him screw it, if he wanted to sell them for his asking price then let me know.
Damn, history definitely tells you who was more lucky than who.
Life is good my cowboy brother. And the world keeps turning. It’s all positive I love it. Be good be safe. I told that to my kids all the time LOL I have nerve damage neuropathy, from the military I rely on speaking text mostly. Sometimes I show patience and I’ll go back and fix the punctuation in the wrong words. But most of the times I let it go because my friends that know me let it slide. But you can’t believe how many people here give me such a hard time because of it. And I just shake my head and some i bother explaining it to and some I don’t.
Ha...that’s funny, I know exactly who you’re talking about. I even tagged him a week or two ago because I haven’t seen him post in awhile but I assume he’s just not getting caught up in all the off season banter, who can blame him?

This is what we used to do on the old form have friendly conversations to get to know who you’re talking to. It doesn’t happen here
I’ve got to know a decent amount of people here but it’s usually been in some random thread in the “off topic” zone. What’s funny is some of the ones I’ve got to know and get along with the best are the same ones who I’ve had bitter arguments with over football prior to that. Sometimes we still do but its a mutual respect now, we have too much in common to let a dumb football opinion override everything else.
