Once again he is being cocky, showing no respect and talking about all this stuff he is going to do, just like last december and this summer. We are getting close, the more the media talks to those guys up there the more they go off the reservation. We havent had their usual guarantee from anyone yet, but it should be coming...pierce, strahan, shockey, burress, jacobs? Who is going to ring the bell for us?

JACOBS’ TASK: RUN ’EM OVER

SLIDES.shuffle();
RUSH JOB: Brandon Jacobs and the Giants running game could be a key factor in Sunday’s NFC East showdown against the Cowboys.

steveserby.jpg
November 8, 2007 -- THERE was a Bring on the Cowboys feel to the Giants yesterday on a day when Plaxico Burress and his barking ankle returned to practice on a limited basis.
“The first ball I caught in practice, all my teammates started clapping," Burress said, and smiled.
Bring on the Cowboys, indeed.
“I'm not really worrying about their players and what their players can do and what they can do," running back Brandon Jacobs said. “I'm only worrying about our team and what we're going to be able to do, 'cause no one stops us, we stop ourselves. As long as we don't do that, we got a pretty good chance of winning this game."
Bring on Brandon Jacobs.
Because if the Giants plan on beating the Cowboys and laying claim to Beast of the NFC East, they must not count on Eli Manning surviving a shootout with gunslinger Tony Romo.
They must give the damn ball to Jacobs, because it sure looks as if the beast is yet to come.
It is time for Jacobs, the NFC's Offensive Player of the Month, to be Mr. November.
Where once this was Tiki Barber's favorite time of year, it is on the 264-pound Jacobs to run the Giants over the Cowboys and the possibility of another second-half collapse.
This is the time for the real Giants - and the real Giant - to please stand up.
“Tiki's gone, and his name still lives here," Jacobs said, “but we're not here to replace him. We're here to do our thing. We're 6-2, that kind of talk should be gone."
It's gone because Jacobs led the NFL with 424 rushing yards in October and has three 100-yard games in his last four outings and the knee he sprained in the first half of the opener against the Cowboys is rested following the bye and no longer bothers him.
“I feel good; I'm back 100 percent," Jacobs said.
The Giants are fourth in the NFL in time of possession and the best way to stop Romo and Terrell Owens and Jason Witten and Marion Barber is to keep them off the field. “I think our defense is playing good enough now, I don't think we're gonna have any problems," Jacobs said.

November 8, 2007 -- CONTINUED
This looms as the immovable object vs. the irresistible force because the Cowboys, bolstered by the return of Tank Johnson, have yet to allow a 100-yard rusher. “It's just gonna be a fight, and [the] better man win," Jacobs said.
It pained Jacobs, relieved by Derrick Ward, to watch the last three-quarters of the Cowboys' 45-35 opening night victory from the sidelines. He finished 6-26 rushing.
“All I know is someone [Anthony Spencer] got blocked into me," Jacobs said.
What was going through your head?
“I thought I let my team down," Jacobs said. “This is Cowboys No. 2, I don't want to talk about 1 anymore."
So now he gets his chance to Ride' Em Giants.
Romo said he's not surprised the Giants have run the ball well, despite losing the Barber.
“First off, Tiki is an outstanding talent," Romo said. “So you never are really going to completely replace a guy like that. But I'm not surprised also that they are still doing what they are doing offensively. . . . I think that anytime you have that much talent, I don't think any one player being taken out of the cog is going to really to change the production side of it. . . . And if anything, they have a little more power running game instead of the different things that they did."
There was a question that began: “Brandon, has it been very satisfying to you and to the other backs. . . " and Jacobs never let the questioner finish.
“No, no; that same thing happened last year to us, we got satisfied and we got our butts kicked," Jacobs said. “No one's in this locker room satisfied. About anything."
I said to Jacobs: “You didn't even let him finish his question."
“Don't matter," Jacobs said. “I don't want to hear ‘satisfied,' 'cause we're not satisfied at all with anything."
Being Beasts of the NFC East, now that might be satisfying. “It's a real good opportunity for us to get out and show that this winning that we've been doing," Jacobs said, “is not fake."

I sure hope the Cowboys efficiently pound Jacobs into the turf and send him off for another 3-4 weeks on the sidelines.

I also think he'll put it on the ground at least once. There is a lot of him to hit which means more opportunities and chances for the 2nd and 3rd guy to come in and deliver the unexpected shot.

Whenever I think about Jacobs, I remember the goalline fumble when Roy nailed him and the 4th down when he tried to break it outside and got stuffed by Ware.

What did Jacobs say that was cocky and offensive?

I think that's what was alluded to...

btw... didn't we knock his arse out of the game the last time we played?

Me too!

HAHA... I was at the game to Jacobs left up about 50 rows when he fumbled.

Cortez won the game for us. We went nuts.

Isn't that what he's suppose to say??? I no you didn't expect him to say "our def. still has some problems i hope we can overcome them"

Of course, but I wasn't the one asking what he said, I was merely pointing out what I thought the thread was named for...

He'll be tapping his hat by the third series of the game, you can count on it.

This offense is 15th in the league in yards, and that's even when going against a few awful teams. They're six spots behind the Eagles. So why again should we be so scared of this offense?

Everyone else is living in the real world, Brandon. Either come back to it or keep spouting off great bulletin board material for your opponent.

Not sure what the 'controversy' really is in Jacobs' comments...What would you expect a competitive athlete to say?...No bulletin board material, there, IMHO.

They're going to play hard and hopefully Dallas will too...That first game was a heckuva game...Hopefully, Dallas is a much better team than that one...Although, while the Cowboys have maintained a potent offense from week to week, that was an impressive offensive display from Eli & Co (Albeit, against a weaker D than today probably)...Question is, can the Giants repeat that offensive efficiency?

Dallas puts a stop to the run, I like our chances very much...If Crayton steps up, even better
