Please average 3.4 yards..please average 3.4 yards...

Personally I think he is horrifically over-rated. I hope he plays another 10 years, despite how annoying he is.

Yes, because he can make soooo much more money driving a truck.

Yes, his statement is laughable. He would not run away from his money if he were only making one yard a run. Of course then the Giants would retire him.

Put me in this category too. I think he's a good back, but not nearly the "beast" everyone thinks he is.

I liken the Giants to the Chiefs of the early 90's... good pass rush and good running game (Okoye, Word, Harvey Williams) and competent QB play (give the Giants the edge here, Eli is ugly at times but very good...).

The Chiefs loved the big backs too. Christian Okoye was a power back. Barry Word was also a big back. I think Jacobs "delivery" at his BEST is barely equal to the punch of Word, and nowhere near the monster Okoye was in his prime.

You want that guy behind the wheel of a truck?

It's an empty threat. His sole marketable skill is running the football. I don't foresee a cushy job at IBM waiting for him if he hangs it up.

I hate that guy, but after reading the quote, I don't get it. I don't see anything about retirement in there or walking away. Without hearing his tone or seeing it directly, I'm just going by what I read. To me it sounded like a guy saying if he averages 3.4 yards a carry for the entire year, he won't play next year, meaning no one will want him...no job.

Jerome Bettis played longer than most but if you've heard him talk about his last few years, you'd know he paid for it.
