He played with a bad knee most of the year and behind a line that was banged up and didn't play as well as they had in the past. And a RB who is 6 foot 4 inches 270 pounds needs to have two good knees.

Evidently his knees aren't that good this year either, since Bradshaw relegated him to a part time role back in training camp.

And he's extremely high cut guy who no defender is going to take on at the shoulders .... he's always going to have lots of contact on his knees.

And to respond to the other post. He does take a lot of contact on his knees. BUT, the OLine opened up huge holes for him the year before when he and Ward both went over 1,000 yards. The OLine did not play well last year. Not well enough for a back like Jacobs. Bradshaw made his own holes running around people. That is probably why he is the starter.
