Brandon Marshall released

For whatever reason, despite how talented he is, he's a gypsy. Moving from team to team every few years. Yet for some reason, the media loves him and hated TO.

Not that there was much chance of Romo to the Jets, but now that theyve dumped 2/5 of their line and Marshall, Id say close 100% rule-out.
They are in rebuild mode and theyre a trash fire. Not a fit for either party.

NO.....I dont think we will or should, but IF we are gonna spend that kind of money on WR it should definitely be DeSean Jackson, not Brandon Marshall.......but I say pass on both, we can get Shelton Gibson in the 2nd round possibly.

I read that he is going to be released. Any gas left in the tank? Would he come cheap? Worth looking at? From what I understand he has never played in a post-season game. Maybe he would roll the dice on a "contender" for the right price?

Just tossing it out for some off-season convo!

And yes, he still has gas in the tank. Still a good possession WR who blocks well and out-jumps DB's for the ball. Have wanted him on the Cowboys the past 2 seasons, but he's not the speed threat they're looking for.

If Twill is gone and butterfingers butler is gone....Marshall would be a good start at reloading wr with. He's still one hell of a pass catcher with solid hands, speed or not we could use another one of those.

No, bad fit with Dez. Need a deep threat, not another strong possession WR.

We do need a speed threat at WR2 but there aren't enough secondary players to cover Dez, Marshall, Bease and Witten :)

With that said, Dallas won't show any interest in him.

This is such a terrible stance on this.

If you can get two potentially top 5-10 possession receivers on your team, you take it rather than going to some middle of the road "deep threat".

Now, I'm not saying Marshall will be who he used to be. In my opinion, despite the media ignoring the locker room rumblings, the guy is still a cancer to teams. I don't want Marshall and Bryant together mainly due to attitudes and I think they will clash.

However avoiding top talented possession receivers because "MUH DEEP THREATS!" is a terrible way to go into FA.

Marshall is probably one of those guys who will get in line behind a strong coach, but will cause trouble if there is any weakness there. Think Martellus Bennett, basically, who just had a solid year on the Patriots and was a good locker room guy there, but was up and down everyhwere else.

Shanahan never had any trouble with Marshall as a teammate early in his career in Denver, but as soon as McDaniels took over the wheels started to come off the team and Marshall was a problem. He had off-field issues back then, but nobody playing with him seemed to want him off the team in the Shanahan regime.

Played for clown coaches in Miami, left after 2.

He goes to Chicago and is fine under Lovie Smith. Smith is fired after going 10-6 (!!!), and known chump Trestman takes over and suddenly things go wrong again.

From there it's to perennial clown team the Jets.

I don't know if Garrett is the guy to keep that kind of character in line. In fairness he's never had player behavior meltdowns on his teams since 2010 like you see on some other teams, even when the team stunk it wasn't really a locker room cancer thing. The closest was probably Greg Hardy who got immediately dumped.

And how or why they kept Bowles as the head coach is beyond me. If you're blowing it up, blow it all up. He lost that team last year and they quit on him. That's not getting fixed.

This could be our Sanu type signing that put Hotlanta over the top. But it won't happen. We will get some guy we've never heard of off somebody's PS.

How is that comparable? Sanu was 27 last year. Marshall will be 33 in a few weeks. Sanu was not a big name and had not really done that much with the Bengals. Sanu's career is very comparable to Terrance Williams for Dallas. He had 0 TDs his last season with Cincy.

Sanu with Atlanta
81 targets(2nd most for the Falcons)
59 receptions
653 yards
4 TDs

Williams in 2016
61 targets(4th most on team)
44 receptions
594 yards
4 TDs

Uh, maybe the fact that Marshall is better than Sanu even at 33. Twill only caught that many balls because he can't get open. We need another solid #2 that scares people, and he would be ideal on a 2 year deal, because he could play #1 when Dez does his annual tweak something deal.
