Brandon "The Leg" Aubrey?

He plays 4 years of soccer at Notre Damn. Gets drafted by Toronto FC in 2017 then plays for Bethlehem Steel in 2018. After being released from Bethlehem, Aubrey decided to use the degree he got at Notre Dame to become a software engineer. While watching an NFL game in 2019, a placekicker missed a field goal and his wife told him: "You could do that." From 2019 to 2022, Aubrey worked with a kicking coach regularly to become a high-level kicker and try out for a pro team. He gets drafted by the Birmingham Stallions and plays with them 2 years becoming a 2 time champion and gets named All-USFL last year. Then signs with the Dallas Cowboys.

This movie script writes itself!

Homegrown --- Plano HS grad.

Ok that has been taken but the 55 yarder would have been good from 60+. I've re-watched it a few times and the ball didn't start it's downward trajectory until it crossed the post.
That nickname belongs to Greg "The Leg" Zeurlein. How about Brandon "The Accurate" Aubrey?

“The Leg” was a nickname the ladies gave me years ago, but it wasn’t because I could kick field goals.

The legendary Lou Groza was nicknamed "The Toe." Of course, once Pete Gogolak sparked a wave of soccer players entering the League, that was all over.
