If it's a career backup were looking for in the later rounds... Brandon Allen and Dak Prescott are the 2 best QB'S after the top tier guys.

Why bother with these guys? They Will never be a starter in this league and I don't think DaK can play on this league anyway.

It's a terrible QB Draft at the top - get over it.

It's a deep mid-round developmental QB Draft - get with it.

I think it's a weak QB class at the bottom. After Lynch Goff and Wentz, I don't see any other QB'S that will make any impact in the league. Conner Cook has a chance to be a ok. But Goff is the real deal imo.

Because Stephen litterally came out and said they would take a franchise QB over an immediate impact player at 4

Exactly.

And I'm a big fan of Gil Brandt, but I have to question the relationship. Gil was part of the Landry guard, for the most part Jerry has been lukewarm on those guys (I don't agree with that, but that's just the way it is). I also kind of doubt that Jerry would announce his intentions to somebody like Gil who writes and does radio for the NFL.

And say what you will about Jerry, he's never overly decisive. He never rules out the impossible. He's an optimist in that regard. And sometimes it drives the fans (myself included), nuts.

My gut tells me that they want Wentz, but he's not likely available. I don't think they want Lynch (which I think is a bad move on their part). I think they love Ramsey and they probably really like Hogan and Hackenberg. Both are smart QB's. Hogan has been using much of the same technology that the Cowboys have been using to practice and learn the playbook. Hackenberg is an audible heavy QB like Romo.

I don't think QB is out of the question and I think Lynch's pro day will likely determine a lot. Otherwise, they'll go Ramsey and try to pick up Hogan or Hackenberg later on.

I think Jerry is using Brandt to spread this all over NFL Network, knowing it will be the talk for a good long while. Jerry is just being Jerry, making sure the spot light is squarely on him. Both Stephen and Gattett said they have seriously consider a ab with the 4th pick.

I don't know if Gil has lost his fastball or not, but I have made a nice sum of money on his weekly NFL underdog picks the last 2 years. I wait for them every Sunday. He usually gives anywhere from 2-4 underdogs that will win and he's running about 75% the last 2 years. Love Gil.

Make no mistake about this, Wentz and Lynch are developmental QBs.

After them there are at least 5 under-rated QBs that could end up besting the 2016 over-rated 1st rounders.

Usually in most Draft years, the question is arm strength however, there are 8-10 QBs in the 2016 Draft with enough NFL arm to play on this level.

Because he's proven time and again he is that dumb...

Not only that, for some inexplicable reason, he often seems like he's dying to tell the world who we want to draft. He's never done the whole smokescreen thing. It's really strange.

How dare you not follow the experts and say everyone below the top 3 are career backups?

Tell me the difference between Dak and Russell Wilson coming out of college? A real answer.

We're going to probably try to maximize what is left of Tony's career by taking a non-QB in the first. But then also try to address the QB situation by taking a 2nd or 3rd tier QB someone in round 2-4.

If this were baseball I'd expect at best a double and strikeout with this strategy.

If we want a QB then take one of the top 2 prospects, both of which are top 10 players in this draft and then go BPA in rounds 2 and 3 in what is considered a deep draft, specifically DL, DB, RB, WR.

Probably would have been even more appropriate to post a picture of Gil instead.

There is really is no such thing as a developmental QB. If you go back the last 15 years these are the only QB's drafted outside of round one that were starter for a year or more. Brady was 16 years ago.

  • Drew Brees
  • Ryan Fitzpatrick
  • Matt Schaub
  • Kyle Orton
  • Matt Cassel
  • Andy Dalton
  • David Garrard
  • Russell Wilson
  • Josh McCown
  • Chad Henne
  • Colin Kaepernick
  • Derek Anderson
  • Nick Foles
  • Quincy Carter
  • Tarvaris Jackson
  • Trent Edwards
  • Derek Carr
  • Geno Smith
  • Kirk Cousins
  • Colt McCoy
  • Brad Smith
  • Charlie Frye
  • Seneca Wallace
  • Kellen Clemens
  • Kevin Kolb
  • Bruce Gradkowski
  • Chris Weinke
  • A.J. Feeley
  • Mike Glennon
  • Chris Simms
  • Jimmy Clausen
  • Tyrod Taylor
  • Drew Stanton
  • Tyler Thigpen
  • Brooks Bollinger
  • Andrew Walter
  • J.T. O'Sullivan
  • Curtis Painter
6 good QB's out of 145 picked in 15 yrs. Selecting a QB outside of the first round is a wasted pick.

So after a bottle of makers mark they both agreed to believe what JJ is saying prior to the draft. Brilliant.

I think they all are but if Mariotta can come in and play decently straight away than so can these guys.

Goff always gets labeled the most NFL ready but the guys who were actually doing NFL stuff were Wentz, Cook, Hackenberg, and Hogan. Not Goff.

I've heard that Hackenberg was in one of the worst situations in College football history at Penn. State and that he took an absolute beating.
He's a project but he could be a homerun.
The kid reminds me of Romo too when he talks. It's pretty crazy.
