If Quinn is all that it will take a lot more than 2 late 1st rounders to get the 1st overall pick.
I agree with that. But to continue with Rack's hypothetical; if we trade for a next year pick it will likely be with a team who has already picked ahead of us in the 1st otherwise we would just swap 1st this year. So there is a good chance that one of those first may not be so late since the team would not be one of the elite teams anyway.

the good thing is that every play Quinn makes this coming season will be put under the microscope. No one will be able to say that any suprises will come about due to NOT KNOWING what he did in college. If he has another great year that punks the one year wonder label.

If Quinn does well again this year he will be a 2 year wonder ;)

Weiss is a Pro Style Coach and has dealt with real Pro QB's for a long time with great results. I have faith that when Quinn comes out he will be way more Pro ready than any of the Crash-n-Burner's that you named. He has the physical tools and if he has any brains at all Weiss will make a first class pro out of him; so far it looks like he does have the brains.

Key word if and I think he will because of Weiss. I don't claim to be an expert like some on this board but the system QB is a valid question concerning Quinn and will be asked by all NFL scouts.

The last system Weis had did pretty good in NE. I would be quite happy with the results of THAT system.

If Henson doesn't play lights out the next few weeks I hope we trade down into the 2nd and get an extra 1st next year. Draft Bobby Carpenter (who amazingly drops to our pick :D) and Lutui (sp?) with our 2nds.

Then use our two 1sts next year to move up and take Quinn. Let him sit behind DB for a year and unleash him in 08.

Genius, Rack. Pure *****' genius.

Another weak WR year?

If the "Rack Plan" doesn't work out, next year looks like the year to address the tackle position.

The last QB Weis had direct contact with has turned out pretty good.

Tom Brady anyone?

Except Weis was doing the coaching of Brady.

Based on what empirical evidence?

It's tough to have evidence when he hasn't had anyone come out of his system in college yet.

I just want to see a 22 year old move on from Weis' system and have success on his own before I jump all over Weis QB's.
