Bravoooooo! Mike Jenkins!

Mike Jenkins has shown me the light. Wow. This guy played out of his mind yesterday. That bone jarring hit on Marty Booker was awe inspiring! On that play he manhandled his primary assignment (Michael Jenkins #12?) and then turned around to peel off and nail Booker. Yes. I jumped out of my seat right along with many of you. This guy is playing solid ball and IMO has completely erased any remnants of criticism. Young, talented, and growing in the line of fire. I am on board.

Side note: OScan and MJenk both had INTs.

Y'all know I had to slip some OScan in there... :p:

The corner position is looking really good.
Your best post this year. He is really playing well. I like his footwork. He doesn't seem to get wrong footed and that means he can close to the ball quickly.

Yes. I agree. The footwork is amazing.

Doesn't seem to be hampered by those ankle spurs. I'd say he's atoned for that play in the Meadowlands last year.

What I find interesting about that is that in the week b4 that Giants game in NY, I was reading their coaching staff's opinion about our defense and one comment that stood out was their offensive coordinator talking about the "feet on that Jenkins kid". That was out of the bleu (pun :)) and it piqued my curiosity. Up till that point, I hadn't noticed it.

But then he went out and used the feet to get away in that infamous gaffe. But it's all good now though

^^^ 2, huge OScan fans
I'm a huge fan of all the Cowboys players. I never rooted for one over the other. I did make the claim that Scandrick played better in their rookie seasons. And he did.

But I said Jenkins was outplaying Scandrick in training camp. And now I'm saying Jenkins is outplaying even Newman. I couldn't be happier about Jenkins at the moment.

:laugh2: Yeah. It's definitely all good now. The guy does have great quickness. As many here have stated before, he learned a lot from the criticism he took for that gaffe. Now's he's using that footwork to close the gap instead of extending it. :)

I talked about his footwork last year, but his whiff tackling technique made that seem a moot point.

I didn't recall that. But he's got all the attributes needed to be a lock down corner. Size, speed, strength, long hands (which is actually what Wade brags about with him), good hands, ability to locate the ball and ball skills.

It just took me by surprise that the one guy the Giants OC would talk about in our secondary was Jenkins and the one thing he'd mention are his feet.

That's what TO said about him too. He was really impressed with Jenkin's footwork

I was really impressed with him at South Florida.

I thought he would be more ready to start in the NFL from day 1 than all the other corners in the draft. I was wrong.

He had a lot of technique issues but this guy has taken well to coaching and it shows up on the field.

I still can't get over that play he made in Denver. WOW
