Have seen a few mocks that have us taking Miller in the 2nd. Am I the only one who thinks this would be a pretty stupid selection?

My preference would be to get the highest rated DT here. But Miller is getting pretty good reviews so I wouldn't go crazy if it happened.

Tons of potential but would need a lot of work to be a starting WR in the NFL IMO.

No. I think it would be stupid too. Fourth round, yes. Before that, no.*

*Unless we trade down in the first or second and get additional picks in the second or third.

It would not shock me if he is taken in that area or higher.

Don't know if we would take him but it seems like they were impressed with him in the senior bowl and how he was being used in different areas and still looking better than other WRs that should have been more polished due to having more exp at the position.

I have zero rational basis for this, and maybe I'll dig this up in 3 years and facepalm, but I have a very strong gut feeling that Braxton Miller will be an offensive star in this league.

I have a belief in stocking your team with freakish athletes, and I think he fits that. It's why I don't worry about (and am starting to hope for) taking Ramsey as our #1 pick and have him and Jones patrolling the secondary as athletic cats in hybrid roles if our defensive staff can get down with some creativity.

I think Miller gives you a hybrid WR threat that combined with Dez would be devastating. Can you tell I'm all in on this feeling?

That said, our 2nd is *almost* a 1st. So I realize it might be too big of a gamble to go with him there.

I think the need for a #2 WR is being overblown a little here honestly. Our coaching staff can't use the guys they have now...

In a good year where we are running the ball like we should Romo is going to throw the ball between 550-650 times and complete somewhere around 350-400 passes...If everyone is used properly this how the spread SHOULD look in my opinion.

Dez- 80-100 catches
Beasley- 60-70
Witten- 60-70
4th and 5th WR(Butler/Lucky?)- 35-45 total for 2
TE #2- 25-35
All RB's- 50-65

That isn't including Twill at all and that's 300+ catches right there. Obviously the biggest issue is going to be Dez staying healthy, but I can definitely see us drafting a WR in the 2nd and not being able to find him any targets. I'm by no means a Twill fan, but I'm pretty sure he's not getting kicked to the curb at this point.

I really like Miller and wouldn't be completely opposed to him with our 2nd. I would definitely prefer him in a trade down in the 2nd or with our 3rd, but watching him at the Senior Bowl, he reminded me of OBJ.

It would be stupid if Thomas is still available. I've seen a lot of mocks that have Thomas going in the 2nd.

I would hate it for the simple fact that we should be using that pick on the best DT available.

Terrance Williams?

Braxton Miller will go in the second round, I don't think it will be the Cowboys though.

As much as I would love to have him, this coaching staff has shown no ability to get a play maker like Miller creatively involved.

That would require them to recognize the fact that they probably can't fully utilize him and I doubt they are capable of doing that. I fully expect him to be on the list for in town visits. Hopefully Cravens finds his way on that list as well as both are personal favorites.

I've given up hope for Cravens. I never get my wish when it comes to DBs.

Cravens looks like a playmaker.

If he times well in the cone and shuttle, he may go in the mid first round. He's that good and exciting on tape. He needs to prove he's got short area burst and great change of direction, though. Otherwise he is looking at Taylor Mays comparisons.

I agree. He is very exciting to watch. The first time I watched him was one of his draftbreakdown videos. I was impressed. He jumps off the screen.

Its remarkable he isn't more of a household named considering some of the plays he makes. If we want a pseudo SS/LB hybrid to pair with By Jones in our one high look, Cravens breaks the mold. I'd really like to see him in one-on-one passing drills with TE's and RB's.
