MRI RESULTS COMING FOR CRIBBS
Posted by Mike Florio on August 19, 2008, 5:30 p.m.

Lost in the hoopla regarding the concussion suffered by Browns quarterback Derek Anderson during Monday night’s game in the Meadowlands is the fact that Cleveland’s answer to Devin Hester injured an ankle.

Joshua Cribbs has a sprained ankle, and we’re told that the team and the player are still awaiting the results of an MRI.

The loss of Cribbs for any significant period of time would be a huge blow to the Browns.

In this same regard, we heard receiver Braylon Edwards talk about his sock-feet slice-and-dice routine on Sirius NFL Radio earlier in the day. Though he’s widely expected to return from the freakish foot injury in time to participate in the regular-season opener, Edwards stopped short of declaring that he’ll definitely be ready.

“Hopefully” was as far as he would go.

What a huge blow that would be for their chances against us in Week 1 if Edwards is still out...

Obviosuly he is a hgue piece of their team...but I've seen them a couple times in preseason now, and they dont look very impressive...if we play a quality game, it doesnt matter if Edwards is playing for them or not...we'll win

I heard kellen winslow was going to take his motorcycle out for a ride too, so we got that in our back pocket as well.

Edwards, Anderson, Cribbs, 2-3 of their top rookie picks........all hurt. NO excuse to lose that game vs. the brownies. Only problem...it's in Cleveland.

Looks like Joshua Cribbs (their return man) will miss Week 1... he's been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. Sucks for them, but good news for our kick coverage.

Isn't this where someone chirps up that you can't evaluate a team based off of its preseason performance?

so we play without miles austin and call it even. that's about as fair as you can possibly get from the position and head count standpoint.

Dallas Needs a break from time to time. It always seems we play the teams when they are hot and fully healthy and ou rivals always catch a break.

Yeah by hopefully he means he will be one the field but he wants to try and hopefully trick one or two people into believing that he won't be.

Yeah, I was wondering how many Cleveland fans are saying, "I've watched Dallas in two preseason games and they're not going to be that hard to beat."

I don't see a road game in Cleveland as a walk in the park. They showed great improvement last year and I expect to get their best. I think this will be a very good challenge for our defense with or without Edwards in their lineup
