This is the biggest playoff game in the history of the franchise.
It is not. 'Firsts' do not fall behind others. Super Bowl VI was the team's first NFL championship. It will never be topped by any subsequent postseason game in largest significant to the franchise.

This postseason matchup between Green Bay and Dallas is notable in this way also. It can be argued the gravity surrounding the franchise's two first-ever championship appearances, and losses, to the Packers are higher in relevance. The second meeting between the two franchises is embedded within league lore, The Ice Bowl, to the degree it is singled out and referenced by the Pro Football Hall Of Fame (link).

Hopefully, Dallas will make short work of the Pack this Sunday. Let them be a stepping stone towards another Dallas' championship. However, I doubt the upcoming wildcard match will be remembered by Dallas and NFL fans alike as the most monumental in this franchise's history. It is a big game. Huge even but biggest playoff game it is not.

GB is a paper tiger. Talk about teams padding their record with weak wins lol

This is the game I wanted. Time to pay GB back for some playoff losses. Everybody is scared about Aaron Jones lol

I had the cat on my fantasy team and he did jack squat this year bc he is always knicked up.

DQ will have the D ready, and Dak and the offense will continue to roll at home. No one is overlooking anyone in the playoffs. GB is about to get smacked because Dallas is simply the better team and they are focused on this opportunity.

The Packers are not great defensively. They were ranked 28th in defensive DVOA before week 18. The Eagles were 27th...for compariosn. Check A. Jones, win the turnover battle and do what you do on offense. If Prescott has a mostly clean pocket then they should roll at home...especially if they can avg at least 3 - 3.5 yds/carry.

I still hold a grudge from the 'Ice Bowl' game.

So … Jordan Love. This, quite possibly, is the best quarterback in the NFC in the last half of the season. The Pack’s 6-2, and Love’s thrown 18 touchdowns to one pick in those eight games.
dallas is also 6-2 and dak has 26 tds to 4 picks. love has been playing great. but so has dak and with an arguably harder slate than love in the last 8.

Feels like a run heavy opponent, wonder what will DQ bring up scheme wise, more Micah at LB? Bring up Wilson and Buddy Johnson to help a little bit? Play Dono close to the line to sure up the run?

We have to be careful not to let those quick young WR run around in the secondary too.

Win or go home. I trust we will be ready for the Puckers.

Want to start getting into our next opponent. Feel free to drop in any stats/tweets pertaining to their trends.

2023-24: 9-8, 2nd NFC North

Offense: 22.5 PPG (10th)

QB Jordan Love: 372-579, 4,159 yards (7th in NFL), 32 TDs (2nd behind Dak), 11 INTs.

RBs: Aaron Jones: 656 yards (119 YPG in last 3 games), 2 TDs (11 games)
AJ Dillion: 613 yards, 2 TDs

WRs: Jayden Reed: 64 RECS, 793 YDS, 8 TDS
Romeo Doubs: 59 RECS, 674 YDS, 8 TDS
Dontayvion Wicks: 39 RECS, 581 YDS, 4 TDS
*Christian Watson: (inactive since 12/3, but close to being back) 28 RECS, 422 YDS, 5 TDS

TE: Luke Musgrave: 34 RECS 352 YDS, 1 TD

Defense: Giving up 20.6 PPG (12th)

3 straight wins to get into the postseason.
not a pushover, but I preferred them over Rams. contain the running game. minimize big play runs and then pass rush. Love spreads the ball around, but they don't have a superstar WR, the types that tend to kill the cowboys ala Hill, St. Brown, Brown, Nacua, Aiyuk, MetCalf. We were ablt to contain some of those star WRs earlier in the year, but later in the year we struggled against those types.

so contain run game, minimize big runs early in the downs, pass rush pass rush, pass rush.

Interesting tidbit I just saw on twitter.

According to Sportrac the Packers cap spend on their offense was 32nd in the NFL at $39M. Cowboys spend on their offense was 4th at $95M.

Shocked at how much productivity the Packers got out of their offense this season considering how little money they spent on it.

Jordan Love may be great in the future but he hasn't faced a defense that can pressure and take the ball away. Cowboys defense at home is fast and will make him look mortal.
