I saw him grab his hamstring while he was on the ground after kicking the winning fg. Didn't look good.

This is huge. Akers is/was as automatic as you could get up to this injury.

I would even go as far to say that Akers is as much the MVP of that team as McNabb is.

He had pulled it last week. You can't go out and put that much stress on it. Too bad for him. He was out there toughing it out and it was clear that he just wasn't right. He is a very good dependable kicker that can bomb away some deep attempts, too.

After the game-winning kick yesterday you could tell how bad off he was. He was limping off the field clearly trying not to burst into tears because of the pain. Akers has earned the respect of his team and hopefully, he can make a comeback in the future (hamstring injuries are tough to shake).

That sucks. I never root for injuries. Not even to kickers. Hell, not even to the Grammatica brothers whose celebrations drive me crazy. Love to know if Martin is healthy right now though. Don't trust Larry Allen's sparring partner as far as he can kick himself. But I digress...hope he isn't hurt too badly.

I guess I am a bit different. Normally I would not want anyone to get hurt, but I rooted for the Brothers Grammatica to injure themselves. I didn't want anyone to hit them or anything, but I just thought it was sweet when Bill hurt himself celebrating like he kicked a game winner in the Superbowl.

the Iggles sure handled this situation strangely,,, they should have signed a temp kicker last week and surely they knew the risks involved in having him kick anyway.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Stinks for the Eagles.

He is one of the few Kickers that I would consider spending good money to bring to or keep on a team.

Guy has been solid in Philly.

That sucks, Akers seems like a good guy, and it's a shame it happened.

Good kicker yes, But come on Aik...

As much as a team MVP as McChunky soup?

Yes...thought that was a stretch also.

This is not Ted Nugent playing for Ohio state.
