CNN says it was a gentle landing, so didn't break and is floating and getting people out. Good news.

Heh, I work in the Reuters building in Manhattan. Big comotion here initially as we can see the Hudson River clearly from the North-side conference rooms. But yea, the people who actually saw it go down into the River live said it was a shock but that it didn't like disintigrate or anything like that. A relatively gentle landing as far as a Jet going into a river could be gentle.

Looks like everyone survived.

Only about 25-50 are reported to be going to get medical treatment.

I wonder how many of those folks will get back on the horse, so to speak.

The pilot did one hell of a job landing that big boy. (Airbus A320) People that saw it said it landed like as if it was landing on a runway.

The pictures of the people just hanging out on the wing are pretty neat. I'm sure they felt otherwise, though. But now they can say they survived a plane crash.

Yeah, it wasn't luck, either. The passenger they interviewed said they were airborne for several minutes before the engine blew, and they didn't decide to land in the water for a few minutes after that. The pilot, god bless him, remained clam and did his job very well.

I doubt many people could handle a situation like that.

They're probably pretty relieved now, but having had experience in water below 50 degrees, I can assure you they didn't have many thoughts beyond how excruciating the water temps were while they were waiting on the wings. That **** is COLD!

Just goes to show you how awesome those pilots are in situations like this.

Obviously, that Airbus isn't a Piper Cub in terms of maneuverability.

Great job...that pilot is a hero.
