2) Two cornerbacks I think the NFL likes more than the public knows: Alabama’s Marlon Humphrey, USC’s Adoree Jackson.

3) The Browns’ consideration of Mitchell Trubisky at No. 1 overall is real. Here's a potential compromise: Take Garrett at 1, be aggressive in moving up from 12.

10) Reuben Foster had some drug history at Alabama. Teams know. It wasn't considered a big deal before combine test. Now, it takes on a different context.

Oh and there have always been whispers of Foster's drug issues at Bama but like many of the SEC schools, those things tended to get washed under the carpet. I think there is the real possibility he could slide and Dallas might be faced with a tough choice at 28............ they went through the Gregory saga where a Top 10 talent slid because of drug issues. Are they willing to repeat that risk?

A few things. I suspect we are one of those teams that is higher on Jackson than the typical fan.

And LOL at the Browns taking Trubisky #1. That would be such a freaking Browns thing to do.

That is one of my fears...they will reach for him at 28, when they could trade down, with say, the Rams, and get him at 37, right where CBS ranks him at.
I have nothing against taking Jackson, not just at 28 though.

I refuse to believe those rumors are anything more than NFL mandated horse**** in order to have a storyline for their first pick. They can't be legit.

They have already said they won't.

They have new leadership in Cleveland so I struggle to believe it myself. But if they did take Trubisky #1, that would just be sooooooo Cleveland.

Webb in the 1st round!! Lol

We've reached the point where teams want to show off how smart and cutting edge they are and out think themselves. Webb in the first round would be hilarious.

To be so smart about acquiring picks in the first place and then blow their leverage on a reach when the pass rusher is on the board? Yeah, it would be pretty impressive.

The fact that it's the Browns we're talking about makes this a real thing.

Only the Browns would not take the literal consensus #1 player in the draft

I laugh at the Webb in the first round.

Then I sit back and think I probably laughed at people talking about the following QBs chances of being taken in the first round..

Tim Tebow
Christian Ponder
Brandon Weeden
EJ Manual

Now...maybe I should not laugh because if some of those guys can go...who knows who else could go.

A diluted sample is bad enough. If there's a history? I see no chance the Cowboys would touch him. They'll always say the right things publicly, but the fact is that the risk they took on Gregory blew up in their face. Spectacularly. Every other team in the league was proven right while the Cowboys were proven wrong. That kid took their faith and spit it in their faces. I see no way they would be willing to risk that again, especially now with their 1st round pick at a position that's not currently a huge need, no matter how good the player is on the field.

QBs are usually where teams lose their minds and get desperate.

It is one thing I have never understood about how some of these executives think.

Do they really believe that reaching for an underqualified quarterback is going to save their jobs more than just drafting a quality player?

Some of these QBs that get picked because of the fifth year option, it just blows my mind. Don't they know they won't even be around in five years to see that pay off?

I started to put him on there but there was a good bit of talk for some time that he would go in the first. But like the others, he should not have.

You have to wonder how many of those guys might have done better if they did not have such high expectations and just came in and sat on the bench to learn for some years after being drafted in the middle rounds.

It's crazy how much they are willing to give up to get one of these guys as well.

Funny thing about Cleveland talk. They might have to trade up from 12 to get Trubisky....when they could have had Wentz last year without trading down.

The situation and circumstances definitely play a big role. Look at Cleveland, I don't absolve the quarterbacks of all blame, but that organization certainly makes it harder, if not impossible, to succeed.

They dismissed Wentz as not worthy of a first round choice, yet they are falling all over themselves a year later for a weaker, less experienced prospect.

The sheer and stark ignorance of many owners and front offices seems to amaze me each and every season.

It is almost like watching a blind person wander into traffic. You know it is not going to end well for them.
