There have been many before him to play that long and still be productive. Cliff Branch, Jerry Rice, etc.

I'm sure that can be worked out.

What I'm afraid of, is that we don't get another couple of quality WRs ready to phase in while he plays it out.

It would be great for him to retire a cowboy and win a title as well, time wil tell.

This is the best part of this blurb. Some have said he would whine this season over his contract. It looks like he has dispelled that myth.

That is what I thought, too.

I think back to the night when we signed Terrell Owens and look at things now and laugh.

His maturity is very impressive and the reactions that existed back then are comical right now to say the least.

3 to 4 years about 25 to 35 million sound reasonable.....

I disagree.

I think there will be a faction of writers that will make it very difficult for him to get into the HOF.

I think that helping a team win a Super Bowl may tip the scales in his direction, no?

;)

Yes, and the fact that there has been no major on-the-field incident in Dallas.

Personally, I think he is already a HOF but everyone here understands just how difficult it can be to get into the HOF, especially individuals with very controversial actions on and off the field.

I don't think he has to win a Super Bowl, even though it become a factor, if Randy Moss were to join Marvin Harrison with regards to winning a Super Bowl as Owens will literally be compared to these guys when it is all said and done. I think he just needs a few very productive years to solidify his HOF status.

When the HOF does come out with the HOF All-Decade Team for 2000, it will be interesting to see who the Wide Receivers will be as there will be plenty to choose from.

Yep sir.

I was one of the true haters of Terrell Owens.

At least I found out for myself that crow doesn't taste very good ;) .

And you deserve kudos for acknowledging it.

I dunno, Owens-flavored crow tastes pretty damn good, if you ask me.

Cowboys | Owens wants to end career in Dallas

Albert Breer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens said he wants to end his career as a Cowboy. "I definitely want to end my career with the Dallas Cowboys, and go into the Hall of Fame as a Dallas Cowboy," Owens said. "I'm going to let God fight this battle for me. There was a situation where the contract didn't work out in Philly. With this, I'm going to let it play out and not try to be a distraction. I'll let it take care of itself. I'm a firm believer that things will work out for the best." Owens estimated that he has three-to-five years left in the tank.

God, allow me to see one Cowboys game after Owens has retired. One game. That's all I ask. Amen.

P.S. er... that also goes for if he decided to unretire and Jerry Jones resigns him. Amen part deux.

There were a few others. Now the excuse is, "...wait until he's up for a new contract." Some folks just don't want to admit it while others are in denial...or they simply hate the guy.

I can somewhat understand why the "hate" for what he did on the star.

When it's all said and done, players just want to win AND get paid. And he did things the wrong way in the past, but since he's been here, he's been a dream come true.

I hope he wins 2 SBs here, and retire on top.

I like the idea of keeping T.O.!

Besides he is in terrific shape and many times WRs' have productive years beyond their mid-30s'.

Which reminds me...hope Terry Glenn is healing up nicely.

I don't blame him. He has found a place where he is happy and a place that accepts him. Get er' done Jerry!

TO should be a lock for the HOF, but I just don't think he will be cause of his other issues.

As for years left, 3 is reasonable, although we do need a back up plan cause as he does get older, he could break down more.

Sorry, you couldn't be more wrong.

I hope TO does have a few more years in him. This season plus 3 more years would be AWESOME. Give the team a real chance at winning a championship.

Retiring a Cowboy? Wouldn't have liked the idea an offseason ago but if he can continue what he has in Dallas, I wouldn't mind.
