Brees To The Commanders? Plax Thinks So

Plaxico Burress, who caught eight touchdown passes for the New York Jets last season, joined Lavar and Dukes on radio row in Indianapolis today and made a big forecast for the upcoming NFL offseason.

“I have a strange prediction for what I believe is going to happen.” Burress said. “I believe that Drew Brees is going to land in Washington.”

Burress was asked if he would be interested in playing for the Commanders if Brees was here. “I don’t think you have to ask any receiver that question,” Plaxico laughed.

That would be the single dumbest move in the history of a franchise, maybe any franchise, to let Brees wind up some where else.

Interesting observation, but what reason would Brees have for leaving unless the Saints just flat out lowballed him?

Drew Brees’ Agent “Baffled” by Negotiations With Saints

After an elite, record-breaking season, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who is set to be a free agent this offseason, has still yet to reach a new deal with the team. Or even make progress in that new deal with the Saints, for that matter.

According to John Clayton of ESPN via ProFootballTalk.com, Brees’ agent, Tom Condon, is “kind of baffled at this time as far as how this is going because it’s going too slow.”

What’s even more surprising is the fact that Brees, Condon and the Saints have been trying to work out a new long-term deal since the beginning of this past season. And after setting multiple NFL passing records this year, which included his 5,476 passing yards, breaking Dan Marino’s 27-year-old mark, the 33-year-old Brees shows no signs of slowing down.

Clayton also said, “Everybody knows the Saints aren’t going to lose Drew Brees. Everybody in New Orleans, including Drew Brees, knows he’s not going to be a free agent. He is their franchise.” I don’t think you can hit the nail on the head any harder with that one. It’s a guarantee that Brees will be back with the Saints next season.

Yeah because like I said it would be one of the worst moves by a franchise ever if they let Brees get away.

See this is why the NFL is really taking a close look at head injuries. :laugh2:

I have a better chance at being the Commanders QB next year than Brees. :lmao:

Hopefully the Commanders give up their entire draft for Flynn.

I hope they know the GB WR are not part of the package? :lmao:

On a serious note, I'd guess their best options are P Manning (I think unlikely), Flynn, RG3 (but I think the Browns have more firepower in the draft to get him), and who? Maybe another rookie QB via the draft.

I would not doubt they would take that risk but the more I read on Peyton I do think there is a risk involved and if the skins do and are wrong it is going to be a big setback because Manning is not going anywhere cheap.

Hopefully Brees wont want too much of the $9 Billion. ;)

Brees to Skins? This guy thinks so....

Why is anybody worried where Plax ends up? The guy did nothing this year.

How much is Brees asking from the Saints? Anybody know.

Why would the Saints be that stupid to let Brees go. Letting go of one of the top QB's in the NFL if they can hold onto him I doubt they will let him go unless they are high and drunk at the same time

He had Mark Sanchez as a QB here. If you replaced Robinson with him he'd put up similar numbers.
