A Rat-Brent-Hatcher line looks a lot more formidable than a Coleman-Rat-Hatcher line.

We have lighting for LBs, time to use all the DL skills and go 43 or 46.

brent was bulldozing guys in the backfield. I love the reckless abandon he played with. He was throwing arms, bows and all at the defender. He was trying like heck to get in the backfield not just holding blocks. He was dishing out punishment on the giants Oline.

....crowd needs to give up the ghost: it just isn't going to happen. Jrat can rotate with Lissemore and Brent: keep them all fresh: I'm excited about it. I haven't felt this good about our defense since 07':starspin

I think there is a different situation now though with Lissemore and Brent looking solid,,, the team needs to have its best players on the field and the Coleman/Crawford rotation may be a weak link. Did Crawford even play?

Then again it may not matter what position they officially assign him, Ryan lines him up in different places anyway,,,

It be good, hopefully they'll be situations where we do this

It will pay huge dividends in December if Rat only gets about 40-50% of the defensive snaps each week while having Brent and Lissy share the rest.

That is a classic Rob Ryan defense. Once he gets "his guys", he likes to swap them in and out throughout the game. Maybe this is why our D didn't flop in the 4th quarter Wed. night.

I doubt if Ratliff will see the field much this year. He's got the ankle sprain right now and the plantar fascitis(sp?) which could flare up at any time and might linger the whole season.

Could be Ratliff's last year here in Dallas.

I hope Ratliff can heal and get back on the field ASAP. Would be nice to have him out there at NT or DE. I actually think DE is better for him.

Jay two injuries are difficulty ones to overcome. I have been big Brent supporter so it would not surprise me if Dallas doesn't experience drop-off with Jay out. I would sit RAT for 6 weeks and see if you can get him close to 100% for second part of season when you look to get healthier than others teams and build momentum toward playoffs.

Gosh, good thing his contract is up this year...... Never mind.

Of all the times to ignore their rule of not extending guys who aren't in a contract year. Anyone with a modicum of sense should have known that was a horrifically bad contract extension. If Jones wanted to pay Ratliff for past service he should have waited until after he retired and then give him a highly paid cushy job in the FO.

That's a pretty huge overstatement on all accounts. He's not going to miss the entire year or even close. The ankle will be fine for this coming week, 2 weeks tops.. Yes the planter fascitis can be nagging, but its not like we are talking about a guy who needs to be at top speed. Even if we side with caution and keep Rat out for the Seahawks and Bucs games he would be pretty damn close to 100% with a month of rest. Pretty ridiculous to write a guy off due to 2 injuries that are pretty minor and common to NFL players don't ya think?
