Favre plans to retire -- again

By Ed Werder and Chris Mortensen

Wow.

Based on the quotes in this article, Farve seems to really understand that it is time for him to retire.

Like someone said earlier, it can't be easy to come to grips with leaving the game....

I find it sad that yet another great player left his team(G.B) to give it one more shot at glory somewhere else. Now, like Montana and Rice, he'll be remembered as someone who couldn't walk away. Oh well. Another chapter closed.

I will say it just like I did last year.

I will miss him. He is good for the game and guys like him make it enjoyable to be a fan.
He was good for highlights and one trophy. I tired of the Opie thing long ago.

ok, as you all know im a die hard dallas cowboy fan, but why is bret farve salary cap hit of 13 million dollars coming off of the books for the jets.

didnt they make a rule if a player retired that you had to eat that first year of his retirement like the cowboys did with Aikman?

I don't care how you spin their loss. They lost. They didn't win it. That's the fact.

So he won exactly nothing without Favre. While with him he won one and got to another.

I guess it was all the refs fault that Willie Parker was allowed to go 75 yards for a TD to start out the second half.

I guess the refs told the secondary to blow their coverage on the Randle El pass to Ward for another TD.

But, yeah, clearly it was ALL on the refs.

Please.

Fair enough.

Back to my point.
Mr. "Check-out-of-running" play might retire.

Anonymous sources: Brett Favre is retiring because he doesnt want to put the work in. Not in Practice drills, OTA's, TC, Preseason etc.

He just wants it his way. Selfish.

i wonder who has retired more... Farve or Charles Haley??

they ought to keep statistics for the number of times they retire and give out trophies to the winner.:lmao:

Talk about "Cancer's"

Brett Favre is a cancer.

Tore up the Packers twice, atleast.
Holmgren busted a move outta town cause of "Mr. Check-out-of-play"

Jets gave up draft pick.
Jets have nothing to show for that trade.

Mangini fired.

Team mates DIDN'T want him back and SAID SO.

You have had MORE JETS players throw Brett under the bus that any number of players in TO's career.

Brett's daughter goes to my college, and I just wrote Brett a message that she will hopefully pass along.

Thomas Jones had 1 TD the season before Brett got there. He had 14 the season he got there. He should shut his mouth.

This is just another scheme to get his butt to Minnesota.
My thoughts exactly! Everyone needs to understand that the word "retire" means "go to Minnesota" in Favre speak ;)

The 'interception king' is gone! DBs everywhere will be sad that they can no longer be a part of history.

It does seem like he has figured it out though, that he needs to move on. Still, he'll have to get through that first year.

If Romo gets hurt mid season, I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry called Brett up.

He would have to be arrested at a strip club or with illegal guns before Jerry would even think about it.

The NFL offseason.

The only time of the year when Vicodin Man tries to outdo the Dallas Cowboys for media attention. He won't be successful this year.
