He may be my biggest concern going into next week since you know FGs are going to come into play. Missed 34 yarder that would have changed the complexity of the game and two darn near missed EPs. I guess you can't do anything this late about it

I was just thinking the exact same thing, then I saw this post. He’s as shaky as hell. Might as well take a few offsides penalties to push him out to a 45+ yarder. Seems for some reason he’s better at longer distance. Joking of course, but the dude scares me even during extra points.

I will be terrified every single time he lines up to kick. He can't even get touchbacks consistently. And how is it Maher lines up on left hash mark by choice on short kicks, and STILL pushes it too far right, but then on 50+ he kicks right down the middle? Just kick it straight on all of them man!

The problem with Maher is that he loses his mechanics on some kicks, usually shorter ones. It's the same way when you're hitting a higher iron in golf and you shorten your swing or use a punch/whip motion to hit the ball rather than following through like you normally would. That's what made Bailey so good before the injuries because he was great at using the same mechanics every time at all distances.

The one good thing is that it seems less likely to happen on longer kicks which is why he tends to make a higher percentage of those.

Regardless they need to give him a tent and a cot for the week at the FG practice field

Get outta here with those insightful and intelligent posts!

He's got the yips.

I'm gonna pray we don't need him for anything clutch in the playoffs and hope we find our next Bailey in the offseason.

Now I'm excited as everyone for next week. We have a legitimate defense, & although Dak has been spotty this season. I have the upmost confidence with the ball in his hands late in games, but the foot we must rely on scares the hell out of me. If it comes down to Maher having to make a pressure filled playoff kick to propel us to the divisional round I will probably come apart at the seams. Does anybody else share these thoughts ?

Yea, he has to go, way too shaky. I'm on the edge of my chair downing shots whenever he lines up for a kick.

I'm more concerned with Garrett, Linehan and Moore.
