Brian Baldinger breaks down Cowboys draft

It was a masterclass of team building.
  • CeeDee Lamb
  • Jalen Tolbert
  • Jonathan Mingo
  • Jalen Brooks
  • Ryan Flournoy
  • KaVontae Turpin
  • Parris Campbell
  • Kelvin Harmon
  • Seth Williams
  • Jalen Cropper
  • Josh Kelly, UDFA 2025
  • Traeshon Holden, UDFA 2025

These are the wide receivers in house now...you explain where it's going.

My view is that the staff thinks they already have enough talent on that roster to handle the #2 job.

Now they will go to camp and fight it out again, until someone earns the job. That or there was just too much gambling trying to win a lottery. That falls back on the current staff and Jerry. This status is unprofessional and out of hand. Unless the camp puts all back to an intense camp and all really on the men. I would bet on my men.

To buy someone in, this is where that should go...

Amari Cooper and Keenan Allen, as the top two examples, remain delectably available and ripe for the picking at the moment; and it goes without saying that both could be immediate contributors in the WR2 role opposite Lamb — Cooper having the added edge of familiarity with Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott. Things may not have ended well in his first stint with the team, but time, money and the prospect of winning playoff games goes a long way to driving a willful amnesia.

The options are there, along with roughly $37 million in cap space to get a deal done.

I don't think they're rolling fully with that I know they stated already if they did not draft one of the top receivers they were going to look outside the organization for a number two wide receiver Stephen Jones says he did not believe that anyone on the roster at this point has grasped the number two spot not that they can't but at this time none of them are considered the wide receiver 2..

I realize we can get through some of the camps without needing to do it I don't remember when they brought in Brandon Cooks and Gilmore that year at with number 5 draft picks that they only had to give up for them but someone along those lines are out there keenan Allen Amari Cooper there's probably going to be somebody cut this week or the next couple weeks because everybody in the draft who did get their receivers are probably going to be looking to unload somebody on their team to not get anything from at all you can give up a 5th or a 6th and get a guy if you think he's capable like I said if you can get a brand new cooks type for a 5th I'm sure there's somebody out there..

We just don't know when they're gonna do it at the timing of it but I don't think it's smoked to think they were looking into Pickens but I'm sure they have a little list and they're still working on it behind the scenes..

Literally as I was hitting save and sending this to you Bleacher report just popped up and said Cowboys reportedly interested in Cooper contract for 2025 free agency Now I realize both parties have to kind of apologize and hope it's water into the bridge for this to happen but they're looking into it that means they're probably also looking into Keenan allen.
