DaBoll got the award but to my way of thinking Siriani or Dan Campbell get my vote 1&2 . When Detroit left after losing to Dallas they were hitting the skids but Campbell kept the lockeroom going they didn’t quit and made a nice run at the playoffs bagging 9 wins .

In his second year let’s face it the Eagles were in the toilet when Pederson tanked his last game and got fired. 2 yrs later it’s a SB . Not bad not bad . The Eagles basically blew the Giants out of the water first 10 mins of the playoff game . Non competitive.
I mean did you expect the giants to be on the playoffs?!

You say Hutchinson i say Thibodeaux . Hyperbole indeed . And Jones Barkley Leonard Williams all were on the roster . Look when “ coach of the year “ met Detroit in NJ they got roughed up .
yeah... that's my point, every team drafts players. lol @ jones. he didn't even have his fifth year option picked up. guys been a huge bust... until Daboll got there and coached him up (even when losing most of their receivers). And by your logic should every coach that beat the lions have been coach of the year over Campbell? Everyone in this thread is explaining to you why Daboll won, and.... he won lol. Not a lot to argue.

Should have been Shanahan.

Three different QBs this year, still 2nd seed in NFC.

It wasn't the coach who got the Eagles where they are, it was the OUTSTANDING work of their GM!

I expected better then what Ben McAdoo Pat Shurmur and Judge Joe put out for consumption , Garbage.
Well I know I didn't expect them to be in the running for Nfc east lead and in the playoffs. Makes sense it came down to him and Lions coach

Pederson deserved it as well
Would have been great if both shared the award.
Did some research; in the 66 years (started following the 1957 season), only one time has the COTY award shared.
1967 -- George Allen and Don Shula.

Don Shula with 4 leads all coaches . The 17-0 coach probably never repeated .
Chuck Knox and Bill Belichick are tied for second at three apiece.
Anyone suprised "The Hoodie" has only been selected for that honor three times?

Chuck Knox surprises a little .
I was around watching during his HC tenure in the NFL.
Knox is one of the most underrated head coaches in the league's history.
His roots were Western Pennsylvania HS football...power running game argumented by tough defenses.
"Ground Chuck" never really strayed from that type of play of his teams throughout his HC tenure in college and the pros -- AFL, then NFL.
Knox consistently got his Rams, Bills, and Seahawks teams into the playoffs as the league was changing into a pass-first sport while he was holding on to the traditional ways of forming a squad.

Oh yeah I was around for the Knox yrs . He was a solid coach but some of the guys were legends back then. I think Madden was in his early 30’s when he led the Raiders to 12 wins in a 14 game schedule .

Everyone thought Philly was going to be good and not many people thought the Giants would be good. Daniel Jones developed into a viable NFL QB this season. Daboll deserves a lot of credit. I’m not surprised he won the award.

What about Jacksonville they won 3 games last year and won the division. This year. To me that's better than what the Giants did
