What's your take on the Eagles' future?

Do they try to keep everyone together and add a player or two or blow it all up and trade McNabb for even more picks and start rebuilding?

What's it going to be then, eh?

I would be on him so fast it would make his head spin.

You can keep Ray Lewis. I'll take Dawkins.

The issue is that he does not like the Cowboys. As irrational as that is, I do not believe he would be interested.

That's a legitimate question. There's still a lot of questions about the Eagles. To me (I'm not speaking for other Eagle fans), I have plenty of questions in our offensive ...

- ability to move the chains [I think we need a power back and a consistent TE. We have the TE in Brent Celek

- long range threat ...I think this year may be the year to take anopther chance On a top notch wide-receiver. The last time we did that we got burned by a certain Mr. Loredo Owens (no hard feelings ... we survived the cancer)

- Hopefully we can re-sign some of our veterans (especially, the Dawk).

- I'd like to get Trent Cole some help on the line to create some severe pressure on opponent QBs.

Generally speaking, I think we'll improve upon the 2008 season; the degree of improvement will be based on the off-season aquisitions/draft.

That's it in a nutshell.

I was wondering because I think they have the option to go in two vastly different directions.

1) They can keep McNabb and re-up with Tra Thomas, Ruyan, and Dawkins for a few more years and try to add a few parts (Marvin Harrison?) and make another championship run.

or

2) They could decide to blow it all up, let their free agents walk, and trade McNabb and Brian Westbrook for a king's ransom of draft picks (they have two #1's already) to rebuild for the future.

Philly Fans would hate Brian Dawkins forever if he wore a Dallas Cowboys uniform. There is no way he would come here after expressing his dislike for the Cowboys organization back in December.

Jerry (nor I and probably a lot of other Cowboy fans) wouldn't want him here either.

Cole is undersized and his daddy is Flozell.

I don't know how many games he has on those knees. He's played his entire career on some terrible fields in Philly, and I'm pretty sure down the stretch one of his knees was hanging on by a thread. They discussed it before the NFCC game.

Dawkins is an Eagle thick and through.

There is _no_ way he'd sign for the Cowboys.

Dawkins is a leader but his skill level has eroded......he would be a liability in our defense....

Pass on Dawkins.........draft a safety.

Interetsing perspectives. I really haven't looked at the situation quite like you've described it ...

But I'd bet there are more options available toe the Eagles GM. For example, it's not bizarre to have some of those franchise FAs such as Runyan or Dawkins to play under the radar to free up some cap dollars to add a Housh/Boldin to the roster and make that run.

Dollars and cents will be the final decision-maker.
