I believe that you are wrong. The Eagles have a well-deserved reputation for not resigning older players, but I can't remember the last guy they cut for salary cap reasons. If you know of such an instance, do me a favor and let me know because I'll be the first to admit my memory is a lil spotty.

zrinkill, I'm following precedent. It seems to me that breaking news, about the cowboys or other NFC East team, is usually posted in this section and later moved to NFL or Opinion as oppropriate. Which is why there is currently threads on Bruce Perry, Jeff Lurie, a game thread, one about Giants injuries, one on the Commanders offense, and even one about a Steelers linebacker.

I just want all my buddys here to be "in the know". OK, I really am going to go to bed this time. Everyone have a pleasant monday, drive safe.

its only a two year extension and with a player that has meant so much to the organization, they would be foolish to cut him before the final year. Also worth mentioning that if he were cut not many players would want to sign there after seeing how they treated a guy that was really respected around the league and had been an Eagle his whole career.

Just a 2 year deal? I think Dawkins could have gotten a longer deal elsewhere. Eagles are as frugel as ever!
