Brian Orakpo question

Does anyone know if he is a free agent next year? cAN HE PLAY de?

Yes, he is a free agent and yes he has played DE in the past before Washington changed to a 3-4.

He will be 29 at the beginning of next season and will want a big contract. He has had some injury issues in the past.

They should pass.

Is he available? If so Dallas should definitely take a look.

Why are we talking about DEs when our purported top two DEs haven't played a down yet and Crawford is really starting to come on?

I think they will be a fine with a high pick and Gardner and the Whaley kid coming back next season. Would rather them spend the FA dough on a kid like Jabaal Sheard instead to help with the rotation.

Because Spencer is on a one year deal and Lawrence, as you said, hasn't played a down of regular season football yet.

Cool. Orakpo is on a no deal with the cowboys and our first round pick on defense next year hasn't even practiced with the team or whatever. Whoever's bringing this up I bet you has no idea how Crawford is playing.

So what has Crawford done lately? We keep hearing that Crawford is coming on but I don't hear or see it.

Orakpo is a passrusher. This team needs passrushers badly. Maybe if its a pipe dream, and if he wants to sign with us at a reasonable price then why not?

Sure we have Lawrence, but he hasn't done squat (yet)? At least Orakpo is a proven commodity.

Well there you have it.

Shut it down folks, show's over! Our DE situation is perfect, nothing to discuss here!

Do not draft Longhorns from the past decade. Period.

Depends for me. If he wants a two or three year deal with most of it being guaranteed, I would consider it.

Players and agents don't want to be back in the free agency market once the player is over 30. I would say that he is highly unlikely to take a 2 year contract and probably not a 3 year deal either unless he has a down year.

It is tempting to over-pay for a quality DE because that is currently the top need on this team, IMO.
