If we are at 51 and both Delmas or Robiskie are still on the board (highly doubt it) who would you guys take? This was proposed to me by a friend. I said Delmas but it is tempting to pick Robiskie. I think we could get Wr later on and we have some potential good ones on the roster already.

I'de go Robiskie in the 2nd and Rashad Johnson in the 3rd.

This is what I'm reading, and if you look at the way the teams from 20-31 that need WRs have behaved, it adds up.

Scouts have major concerns about Nicks', Britt's, and Robiskie's quickness. The lack of quickness could make it tough for them to separate against tight coverage in the NFL.

The Jets flirted with Miles Austin, but they need their second round pick due to other needs. The Giants are chasing Edwards. The Ravens are looking into Boldin, ect... Plus, the Bears like Massaquoi.

I'd be happy with M Thomas in the 3rd or Knox in the 5th.

I agree, or one round lower if possible. Robiskie with the first pick would be a luxury for the Cowboys.

I'd go Robiskie. If they took Delmas I wouldn't be pissed since there's much better WR depth in this draft.

How about a compromise and we package a couple of picks to get both? :D

I think I'm in the minority in not being high on Robiskie. Watching OSU games, he didn't stand out. I like Louis Murphy better, along with Britt and Nicks and the rest of the 1st round guys.

Either. Both can be solid football players long-term and contribute right away.

I am a longtime OSU fan and Robo is very reliable. Not quite on Anthony Gonzalez's level but very close. He didn't have gaudy stats because the Buckeyes are a run first team and had a freshman QB that was still learning how to play. Look at Robo's junior year for how he normally plays.

Robo in the 2nd easily. There will be several solid safetys on the board in the 3rd.

Robiskie.

If he falls to us at #51 then it's a no-brainer, in my opinion.

i think JJ will draft Delmas if both of them are there at 51.our depth at safety is ridicuolous and delmas will be an instant contributor.

Not that this means much but CNNSI fianl draft grades have Delmas listed as the slightly better prospect.

I can live with that :)

I just heard McShay talking about Robiskie earlier today. While I don't put too much weight into what the talking heads say, I pay attention, and what he said seemed to be what I thought about him from watching him. He listed him as one of his most overrated players, giving him a 4th round grade and saying talks are of him going late first to early 2nd. He also questioned Robo's upside and ability to stretch the field. I just don't think Robo is going to ever be a great player, and I don't think he brings anything to the team that we don't have. I'd like a guy like Nicks, Murphy, Britt, or Massaquoi better. Why do people want to move up for the guy? He seems like a #3, at best an average #2.

If he's not on Gonzalez's level, who is a nice #2 and rightfully a late first round draft pick, why should we draft him in the second round? I don't want to bring in a guy who's not as good as Gonzalez or doesn't have the upside to be the player Gonzalez is.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for posting that.

I feel like you do regarding Robiskie.

I think the reason the Cowboys staff likes him is that he could probably step in pretty quickly this year in case there is an injury to Austin, Crayton, or Hurd - in that he's already polished as far as rookies go.

That said, like you mentioned, his upside may not be as great as a result. I think of Robiskie as a potentially very good number 3 and possibly a good number 2 in time.

I'd rather go a different direction at WR this year. I'd prefer a guy like M Thomas who would have a defined role (slot), can be a big asset on STs, has tremendous speed, and we don't have to pretend he's going to be our number 1 in the next few years. He is what he is, which is potentially a very, very good slot WR with great speed.
