I agree. What are they going to do. What until the NFL's image deteriorates to the thuggie levels of the NBA's?

Why isn't a kick the same thing as a punch. If a player throws a punch, the NFL rules say they are to be ejected.

Shoving and pushing goes on all the time but I feel a kick and a punch are pretty much the same thing. One can argue a kick can even be more damaging.

I am just not a fan of rules that are not enforced. Either enforce them or get them the heck off the books.

I don't understand why he wasn't ejected and why there isn't now a suspension to go with the fine.

That was blatant and should be thought of the same as a punch.

Wow. I pretty shocked he wasn't ejected. I didn't know it was so blatant and that the umpire was right there and saw it.

Can you imagine what has to happen in order for a player to be ejected now?

The player has to hit/kick someone hard enough to cause a concussion. Only then will the league view it as an ejectable offense?

15 Yards (and disqualification if flagrant)

Striking opponent with fist.
Kicking or kneeing opponent.
Striking opponent on head or neck with forearm, elbow, or hands whether or not the initial contact is made below the neck area.
Roughing kicker.
Roughing passer.
Malicious unnecessary roughness.
Unsportsmanlike conduct.
Palpably unfair act. (Distance penalty determined by the Referee after consultation with other officials.)

15 Yards and Automatic Disqualification

Using a helmet (not worn) as a weapon.
Striking or purposely shoving a game official.

Seemed flagrant to me and he should have been ejected. Barring that the league should suspend him to make up for it.
