Brian Schottenheimer believes Cowboys can win 'quickly'

FRISCO, Texas -- As Brian Schottenheimer walked to the stage to be introduced as the 10th coach in the history of the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, he passed five replica Super Bowl trophies that serve as a reminder of the franchise's past.

Twenty-nine years have passed since the Cowboys' last appearance in a Super Bowl or NFC Championship Game, which is the longest drought in the conference, but Schottenheimer told ESPN that they are a team that can win "quickly."

"The objective and the main thing is we want to win the Super Bowl," Schottenheimer said.

I think the "quickly" part meant that there's a lot of things already done for him. He said he knows the team, the front office, the QB, and the personnel. He can skip the "settling in" period most head coaches have and get right to work.

For whatever that's worth.

SB dreams with a Juco roster
Not quite that bad. They have Dak Prescott (I know, I know), CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Smith, Jake Ferguson, Micah Parsons, DaRon Bland, Brandon Aubrey, good enough safeties, and hopefully Trevon Diggs and DeMarvion Overshown at some point next season.

This is not a full-blown rebuild. There are plenty of pieces here already.

So the selling championship has already begun, is this what they spent the last 2 days doing, getting the PR and marketing and statements ready. Imagine trying to sell a SB quickly, only in Jerry’s world, last clown said he knew how to win championships, now it’s a quick turnaround. Must be the osmosis factor

If you flashback about 3 or 4 years ago you could say we had one of the most talented rosters in the league. The minute Redbeard retired this team started to slide and we have been bleeding talent ever sense. We probably have middle of the road talent now. That means if we play well we might sneak into the playoffs. If we loose one or two of our few blue chip players we are looking at another losing record.

To put it into Jerry Speak. We can't even touch the rim these days. Shotty won't change the talent even if he is a good coach. We just don't have the players.

I have a feeling he's going to be a lot better than expected. Here's Cooper Rush's take.....

Even Bill Parcells couldn't win here, and he put together a pretty impressive roster. Schottenheimer thinks he can? It's not happening. He's going to get undercut by Jones at every turn. He knows what he got into, and I hope the money is worth it. That's the only thing he's going to be accomplishing here - increasing his bank account. That's all anybody does with this organization because that's what it's about with them.

I mean the NFC East Curse means the Eagles are probably going to have some let down or injury bug next season so their a void, but it is likely Washington will fill it.

BS wants to win
Jerry wants to win
Stephen wants to win

They just dont know HOW to win
They know how to win, they just enjoy making money and being comfortable a lot more. I think the money is about to start drying up unless they actually get serious about Fielding a competitive team. People have had enough.
