Brice Butler is likely done practicing for the day, if not longer.

The veteran wide receiver went down hard after being tangled with rookie cornerback Chidobe Awuzie on a catching drill in pre-practice walkthrough, and stayed down for a few minutes as the Dallas Cowboys' medical staff took a look at him. This is a scare the team certainly doesn't need after dodging a bullet only 24 hours ago with defensive end Tyrone Crawford, but it looks like whatever ails Butlers could be minor.

Butler has become more valuable than ever before. It would be a shame to lose him for an extended period of time but the medical staff should handle it capably. If it isn't anything too serious, he should return in plenty of time to help in game one. Let's just hope it's every bit as minor as the OP suggests. He got up onto his feet and walked off the field, so that seemingly bodes well for a quick recovery.

Receiving wise, he's our 2nd biggest playmaker.

His 0.2 yds/rec over Terrance Williams definitely shows how more of a playmaker he is over T-Will.
Not to mention his crucial 16 catches he had over a 16 game span solidifies his spot on the team as the #2 playmaker as a receiver.
And his longest catch went for 41 yards, 6 yards short of the devil himself, Mr. Williams.

Lance Dunbar had the same amount of catches, dude.

That would be Witten,Williams and Beasley.

Witten don't do **** but get 5 yards a pop(nowadays) he ain't exploding for 50 yards down the field in one play. Not even 30

Williams is a body catcher. Therefore passes, most of them have to be damn near perfect, with no one on top of him. He won't extend and is only dangerous when he has separation

Beasley is not explosive. You won't catch him making many 30+ big yard catches for TD's. He will get you 10 yards easily and occasionally break Free due to his shiftiness.

We disrespected him and gave him little chances. While Williams had a lot, and was merely pedestrian.

Williams doesn't get a lot of chances. He's on a team that runs the ball and plays ball control. The team obviously evaluates him as a much better player considering the contract they offered to both players.

They also thought Carr was worth keeping all these years due to his contract.

Huh? He's like our 6th biggest playmaker, if that.

There are certainly other players more valuable. Not to sound cruel but I'd take all the injuries to the Butlers of the league over losing one of our starters. The injuries, suspensions, etc., at DE are much more concerning.
