I believe he will be used as a deep threat alongside Austin. We should see a lot more RPO with Zeke and Austin as the primary play action with the read being throw to the open route high or low. Austin and Butler should see playing time lined up on the same side of the QB in a flood with Gathers. There will be mismatches all over the field and defenders will look silly trying to keep up with two 4.3 guys in space with a chance to be running out of the play should Prescott keep the football or flip it to Zeke...suddenly Gallup might be wide open.

Well yah that would happen if we didn't have Linehan as our Offensive coordinator you silly goose.

He Nope, JG just said they aren't planning to change anything.
So like the past 8 years expect more of the same

Brice Butler is a JAG that drops to many passes, especially in big moments. Butler is no deep threat savior. If the catch is contested he’ll likely drop it.

he's definitely a jag. he couldn't cut it on the dumpster fire that is the cardinals. can't believe they're bringing him in after he **** on the team. sad state of affairs

What should we expect him to say? "Yeah, he's going to be about 40 yards downfield, single cover him if you dare."

This is intriguing.
Rico and the mismatches mak it so.

Beasley going to throw the ball to Brice? our guy is a running qb, he's not much on throwing.:dance:

Why didn't we go out and get one big time weapon at WR or TE? Why did they ever feel like this would work? This is like the group Eric Mangini assembled in 2009 and 2010. Nobodies.

All I know is I have seen Butler make several highlight reel catches in his career here but I've always thought he was under-used, under-played and under-targeted.

Simple because JJ say's quote "But by the same token, we, as it turns out, have got a really – I think – top group of receivers. We’ll make adjustments as need be" how sad is it down in Dallas.

You obviously forgot who we have calling plays... Jets sweeps and delayed draws. Get ready for an abundance of them vs the Lions.

We don't use Austin as a deep threat. Most of his targets are within 3 yards of the LOS.

Hopefully that changes with Butler, they could really stretch teams on bubble screens where the blocking wideout releases up the sideline...

Now butler will run deeper routes, he did before with success anyway. We still need Dak to pull the trigger quickly.

Lets not get carried away. Defenders have kept up with those two "4.3 guys" for their entire career.
