Briefly revisiting this year's draft

All of our picks appear to be contributing in a major way in their initial year. There are only two exceptions. .

Tapper (unfortunate)
Smith (not expected until 2017)

This is already shaping up to be one of the best drafts in recent years. Of course, my boy Zeke the FREAK is leading the charge.

How bout them Cowboys scouts? ? ?

Zeke is gonna be a perennial Pro Bowler.
Dak is just unreal and looks like the next franchise QB.
Anthony Brown has been incredible for a late round rookie CB.
Collins has been more than solid.
Tapper showed a lot of potential until he got hurt. Here's hoping he comes back at some point.
If Jaylon Smith gets healthy, he might be the best defensive player we've had since Demarcus Ware's prime.

The draft right now is the best since 2005 when we got Demarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff and MB3.

Jaylon Smith was rated as the best player in the draft prior to his injury, if he comes back completely healthy this might be the best draft in franchise history.

I'm really excited about Anthony Brown. Getting reliable young corners has been a bit of an achilles heel for us.

Keep in mind folks....INJURIES have forced us to play these young guys. It feels weird to say this...but INJUIRES to Romo, Scandrick, Dez etc...were the BEST thing to happen to this franchise in a long time. Hopefully, this will encourage us to not be so scared in the future..to play young players.

No matter what happens the rest of the way this year in regards to wins and loses - it looks like we have given the team a shot in the arm with this draft. I really hope Tapper is able to play. Not sure what his back condition will allow him to be, but thought getting him in the 4th was a good/great get.
If - big if, Jaylon makes it back and gets on the field, this is an absolute home run draft.
Finally, feel we got lucky with Dak becoming what he has so far, no-one could have seen this coming. Zeke being Zeke, I think Collins is still very underrated - loved this pick. And had no idea Brown would be the player he has so far, and don't forget we have stashed our backup running back of the future, making him inactive each week - he will get his chance next year, or if we have an injury.
This is the best draft we have had in a long, long time : )
