Briles signs extension with Baylor

He's a loyal man, he's built too much and come too far to start over, he just turned 57 yesterday, and he's just too Texan to leave to another state.

Looking forward to what he achieves going forward, if Baylor prevails over UCLA in the Holiday Bowl it will be a tremendous coup and demonstrate the complete renaissance of a once proud program left for dead 5 years ago.

With a Holiday Bowl win he'll have achieved back to back high profile bowl wins, a 25-13 record over the last three years, a Heisman trophy winner, more first round draft picks in this young decade than anyone other than Alabama.

He's earned his money and is on track to be the best coach in Baylor history if he keeps it up. After 12 years in the wilderness as a loser he's turned the program into a desirable place to play again, something it hadn't been since Grant Teaff retired in 1992.
