With that said, we cant go into this season with our linebacking corp consisting of

Clarke
LVE
Harper
Bell

I get we play a lot of Nickel and Dime, but LVE and Clarke’s injury history scares me

PS: Micah shouldnt be taking any snaps at LBer

While i totally agree Frisco needs a vet LB....Barr is not it. Might as well bring back Coakley, and he's 50. LOL ... They need to judiciously scan the waiver wire or retirement homes and find someone who can plug the holes like a first rate plumber.

Micah will be more effective if he is moved around -- fans don't see it because it reduces sacks. But when we play mobile QBs, he's more effective at LB keeping them from big gains. The best players move around.

This is a 2 lb scheme. Quinn likes to go with 3 safeties. LVE and Clark/Parsons were our most effective pair last year. Barr is over 30. He's a mid-season option but he's on the couch for a reason.

So instead of browsing the waiver wire and trusting in McClay and Quinn,
we should settle on to letting a slow footed, aging JAG hold us hostage because of our scary thin LB depth ?

It's one thing to know a system by heart memory,.
.. it's another to be able to have the speed and reaction to do something about what you're seeing.

Yea, but he wouldn't start, what is the point of bringing in an aging lb that is basically done and taking up a roster spot when he will still be around in a few weeks if there are injuries.

Because when LVE goes down with his annual injury (its inevitable), id rather have him out there than Devin Harper or Marquese Bell

Yes, but he is still going to be available if/when that happens; Anthony Barr is still going to be there, were on step 1 and you want to go to step 42, it doesn't make any sense.

Im saying. If LVE or Clarke go down with an injury early in the game, you are ok with Devin Harper playing a majority of the snaps? Thats why Id rather sign him before that happens.

And btw, my overall point is, i hate the depth behind our top-2 starters. Same as the OL. Id even be interested in signing Jason Peters considering im not fond of our backup tackles outside of Asim Richards

The issue here is using "JAG" and then feeling the need to sign him due to depth. If he's a JAG, there should be a younger player out there to sign over him. Barr was a crappy grab even last season. He should be retiring, not playing again.

Im fine with Harper he has been on the roster for two years and I'm OK with him subbing in for half a game if necessary, having Barr on the roster right now is not going to save the Cowboys season. Would you be ok to cut Harper for Barr is that what you're saying? I honestly don't understand. Barr will probably be available all season, he knows the defense if he wants to play you can pick him up at anytime. Your logic is not very well thought out imo.
