I think we messed up in releasing this guy, he really stepped up in the offseason and showed improvement in pre-season, I think they should go out and get him while he is available.

I'm fairly certain Cletus 'the fetus' Gordon will be available right before TC if we're so inclined. I will admit that 1 handed pick he made in preseason was pretty sick though. :laugh2:

doubtful the only reason he was here to begin with was, i think, the wade phillips connection. But if we need help and he is the best in FA and we get him then I will not be mad.

No need for him. Alan Ball should be are worst corner on this team next season. I expect us to go into the season with Harris, Prince or Peterson as or corners or a form of Bailey or Asomugha. There are too many options out there for us to rely on Cletis Gordon.

And not to be all Spagnola or anything, but I don't think he was on a roster the entire year. It's not like we were the only ones who needed help in the secondary. Guy looked good in preseason, but he has some serious flaws as a CB.

Asomugha or Bailey in free agency plus a trade down to address the line of scrimmage is the best way to go, in my opinion.

But the Bailey signing I think would be almost assuredly for FS.

You're correct. Personally I wouldn't want Bailey here for any other position than Free Safety. He seems determine to want to play the position as well which is a plus.

Gordon wouldn't have played any worse than Newman or Jenkins did this past season.

And you know that how?

There simply is no logic to these kinds of statements. Because a person doesn't play well doesn't mean there isn't someone who could have played even worse.

The reality is that Gordon spent 3 years in San Diego, and despite the fact that the Charger defense was built on the talent of their front 7 and not on their DB's, Gordon never made any mark or earned starting time. Nobody was clamoring for his services after we released him.

Delusions of grandeur.

Along that anatomical vein at least he is not Morris "The Clitoris" Gordon.

I don't think Jinkins is done. I think a good off season and a good camp could do wonders for him. Time will tell I suppose.
