He did really well the short time he played that position.

A full off season of conditioning would have him ready game 1 of the season.

LT Tyler Smith
LG Jason Peters
C Tyler Biadazz
RG Zack Martin
RT Terrence Steele

Swing Tackle Tyron Smith
So that Oline wasnt close to good enough last year. Why would you want to bring them back? None of those guys are getting younger and Steele is coming off a big injury.

Yeah, you're adding to things. I'm not arguing speculation.

Again, a healthy Tyron Smith will be starter day 1 unless he is injured. That was the only argument - he is not a swing tackle, that is Steele. I PERSONALLY want all three of these guys on the field when healthy.
"Unless he is injured"? Its only a matter of time before he gets injured if he doesnt get injured in TC. Between Steele and Tyron you have one good tackle.

Guard should be a top priority.

LOL wanting Jason Peters back with Tyron Smith only as swing tackle.

Tyron Smith, when healthy, will be starting. You just wait and see.

Tyron wants to play out the last season of his contract.

Honestly, the way he played against Bosa in the playoffs was really good. He had the defensive player of the year contained and put him on the ground several times. There is no way you don't want a crack at having that guy back.

Just draft a guard
Peters wasn’t what he once was last year
I do agree on Tyron being swing

Does Peters even want to play any more?
Good question
His social security be kicking in soon lol
I don’t think he played that well at guard last year myself
This draft has some good guards
Just draft one
Peters would cost more than the guy you draft at 26 will make next year lol
I think a good guard will be available in the second too

Weird how fans want to run Tyron out of here because of injuries yet want to bring Peters back when he's 9 years older and broke down every time we needed him last year.
Do you mean our fellow fans who are Superbowl bound every May?
Once Zeke tore his body to bits to support our offense due to the lack of a quality passing attack they discard him like yesterday's trash?
Ya sounds like the kool-aid customers of Jerry and sons we have here and fortunately, they are no longer the majority or at least I hope there not......

At his age, I don't see Dallas bringing Peters back, injury prone at his age now

The left guard is either Edoga, Farniak or the draft pick
If we bring back Peters, it will be after camp because a) there's a long-term injury to Tyron, Tyler or Steele and b) because Peters isn't interested in going to training camp.

No way. Time to start drafting multiple guys or the whole O-line will need a rebuild in a couple of seasons. Zach Martin is not getting younger either.

Agreed. His contract was literally rewritten to incentivize him to do closer to his 2021 output but the team only having to pay 40% of what the market rate for that is.\

That's literally what they want, him to start alot and them not having to pay market rate. That's the complete opposite of a swing tackle (a swing tackle is a healthy body on the bench that your hoping doesn't have to play)

The way his contract was reworked indicates that to me..
The re-working of his contract was actually the complete opposite. If he's injured they pay him lower swing tackle base salary price so not a huge loss for the franchise. The reverse (upside to the contract) is if he starts 10+ games (aka 2021) then even with the incentivized pay bonus their still only paying him like 40% of what the market rate is.

Half agree.

I wouldn't count on the 41 year old olineman to start a full season, but Peters would be a great backup. Can play everywhere but C.

I'd keep the contact to a minimum, but try to get him in shape.

Quality guy to have on the team too.

Draft an OG, need that depth and future starters. Unless he is good enough to start, and therefore moving Steele to ST and Tyron to RT.
If Tyron gets his yearly injury, then they will need Steele to be ready to take over at RT again.

However, I would prefer, Smith & Smith on the left side to start out. But until Steele shows he has recovered fully, that will not happen.

Swing Tackle Tyron Smith
He probably doesnt want to play the whole season. He's a trade deadline (ish) pick up, if required.

No. Let Peters chill at home. You already know Dallas is one of the very few teams he would likely come back and play for. So let him relax, and if needed at some point during the season you give him a call.
And then sign him and wait until week 17 for him to be in playing shape? I mean he’s not signing now I don’t think. I believe these guys don’t want to partake in the offseason program….
