That doesn't mean anything. Eddy Piniero was another kicker who was inexplicably unsigned for most of the season. He was signed by the Jets last month and hasn't missed a kick since.

D'Onta Foreman was sitting on his couch until Derrick Henry got hurt. He's looked like the second coming of Henry since then. The NFL has slept on plenty of quality unsigned FAs.

I get the zuerlein frustrations but the other options aren’t great. You’re really wanting to bring in a 34 year old kicker who hasn’t played since suffering an ankle injury….and do this one week before the playoffs?
