Brisket $1.99/lb at Kroger

I've been looking for a prime rib cut over the last few days. Kroger's, Randall's and HEB doesn't have them. I may have to settle for some brisket :D

I bought a couple. They are untrimmed packers. I think the deal ends tomorrow. Stock up!

Price is good through Tuesday at Kroger's near me, got 2 so far will probably go back and get a few more before it ends

Just an FYI. Memorial Day weekend is next weekend. There should be sales at most of the big stores.

We went wed and bought 6 of the Kroger briskets for a charity event we did yesterday. Ended up taking 2 of them back because the fat-cap, especially over the flat, was really dense and unnaturally hard. The "pocket fat", what's also called "the kernels", was also unacceptably deep and way too off-yellow for my liking, no matter what the price.

The Krogers I frequent always stands by their stuff no prob. The manager's a really good guy and let us go back and dig through the cases in the back until we found 2 more we were happy w/. He even donated 4 whole chickens to the cause, when we told him what we were doing w/ all the meat.

Not saying don't get these, just be sure and look'em over best you can. Oh, and remember kiddies.... ALWAYS buy a "LEFT HANDED" brisket! ;)

I just got my half cow 2 weeks ago but I think I can find some room in the freezer for a few of these.

:D

The deal is, $1.99 per lbs with additional $20 purchase, AND, limit 1. Two ways to get around this, w/o having to hit multiple stores or make multiple trips to same one.

Spend at least $40, and they'll usually let you get multiples equal to what you spend. And more obviously, shop w/ friend/s. ;)

I bought 3 this morning and they didn't say anything about a limit(not saying there isn't one just think the kid working register couldn't care less)

Walmart has them for 1.97 if youre not near a kroger, dont know for how long. still looking at 25 bucks...i remember the 99 cents a pound days not all that long ago.

That was before 3 years of drought. I know a beef farmer who had to sell his entire herd at a giant loss because he couldn't afford the hay.

Try paying $7.89 lb. for brisket up my way.....BRISKET!!!!!
